Jonas Watcher is a private investigator from San Francisco who has been called upon to investigate a dead man in New Orleans. It's the 1930s and the Crescent City is in turmoil. Jonas is confronted with someone from his past who opens old wounds. As he tries to get the lay of the land, Jonas encounters a number of characters who may be friend or foe. He finds himself in the bayou surrounding New Orleans facing reptiles of both the four-footed variety and the two legged kind. As his investigation continues Jason encounters Louisiana politics, bayou smugglers, and someone who wants him dead. The Case of the Bourbon Street Hustler is the second book in the series and continues a case that Jonas Watcher thought was over in San Francisco three months ago.

Read, listen, live
I really enjoy the author's skill and regret the narration wasn't on the same par. The narration didn't seem to be suited to the accents particular to the story and the pauses threw me off track. This is an author that is best for me to read than listen.
Jonas Watcher is an upbeat gumshoe who always lands on his feet and gets laughed at by the sisters of fate. I love the levity in this twisty tale and Mr. Poschman's cast of quirky secondary characters, especially Georgette. She was a real treat. This fast-paced story is mostly witty dialogue and action. There is never a dull moment from the minute Jonas and his friends reach the Crescent City until its end. This book was made for audio. It's like listening to a radio drama. Do yourself a favor and dive into this book today, you'll love every minute!
