Always a great story twist. Michael McConnelly always leaves you with "I didn't see THAT coming...!"

Clever story, well told

Because John Grisham has only written a finite number of novels, I have been desperately searching for someone else to keep me from falling into a book hole once I've listened to all of Grisham's works. Although they're nothing alike, Connelly is as close as I have come. The stories are a good deal more aggressive in their tone and telling, but there is enough substance to challenge the ol' intellect a bit. The writing is good enough. The characters are engaging. Giles is a good reader. I will almost certainly listen to all of the books in the LL series. I liked this one better than the first installment, as the antagonist is a curious character.

Mickey Haller Is My Favorite Mystery Character

I've got to admit that I don't usually like murder mysteries, but I do like legal thrillers because if written well they test one's intellect. I loved Lincoln Lawyer, and when this title became available I gobbled it up. I was not sorry. Mickey Haller is the perfect companion to Connelly's Harry Bosch - like one of my unexpected discoveries in the world of food couplings, black pepper and chocolate. They are unique protagonists, but come together beautifully creating a savory, thought-provoking mystery which is easily understood audibly, and I imagine would be just as good when being read by eye. I detest novels with too much gory detail, too much blood, too much violence. The story in The Brass Verdict revolves around an ugly crime, but is done in a way which is acceptable to me.

All in all, I give this book a solid four-star rating and recommend it to you.

Excellent Story and Excellent Narration

Wow it is so great to listen to not only a good book but also a wonderful narrator. This book kept my intrest and was a well done story.

Really good - well worth the listen

Like Kaye, I liked the Lincoln Lawyer better and I liked the narrator better too. But this was still excellent! Well-paced and interesting throughout.

Connelly is Back!

Well done! Really enjoyed the way the book was written from the lawyer's perspective, with a good dose of Bosch to keep the reader off balance.

great finish

I enjoyed this book, especially the last few hours. I usually listen while exercising, but could not take the ear-buds out after my workout was over. I had to hear the end!

Harry Bosch from a different angle

I like all boks with Harry Bosch, but he is not a main character in this one. Interestingly enough, it gived you different point of view on him.

Absolutely his best

This is absolutely Michael Connelly's best book - and I started it thinking it would not be as good as a "pure" Harry Bosch; but I was mistaken, Brass Verdict was well written, delivered and an overall wonderul "listen".

Fantastic !

Even though I kind of had some of the major plot figured out early on, this book was so well read and so well written and so entertaining I just never wanted to get out of the car.
One of the best lawyer/mystery stories I've read in a while. There was nothing I didn't enjoy. Read it...I suspect you'll feel the same way!
