Not the Strongest Early Bosch Book
The series starts on a real high note with the Black Echo. Connelly stumbles a bit in this second Bosch story. The author finds his stride before too long, but for me, the some of the decisions and plot-serving coincidences weren't up to the overall standard for the Bosch series, or certainly the level set in the first Bosch story. This is good crime fiction, better than 90% of what's out there IMO, but The Black Ice is not close to the level Connelly proved he could achieve over and over again in later Bosch books.

Loving Harry Bosch
This is the 3rd Harry Bosch book I have read and thoroughly enjoying this character. I read the 1st book out of sequence and like the story and character so much that I started from the beginning. I discovered Harry Bosch while reading the Mickey Haller series by Michael Connelly. Love both of these characters, and the story lines, so far, have been intriguing. The narrator, Dick Hill, is good, with a smooth voice; however, he doesn't do female voices very well - who can fault him for that. Anyway, love the character and love the story. Looking forward to the next adventure in The Concrete Blonde!

Very entertaining
What made the experience of listening to The Black Ice: Harry Bosch Series, Book 2 the most enjoyable?
I have listened quote some Michael Connelly books. There is always a twist in the tale. It is wonderful entertainment.

Bosch & Connelly do it again. Good read...
Just became a Connelly/ Bosch fan. Read the first of this series the Black Echo and quickly signed up for this next in the series, The Black Ice. Maybe a touch slower than Echo, but good enough to convince me to promptly sign up for # 3 (...Concrete).

A narrator standout for an exceptional story!
I truly enjoyed Dick Hill’s approach and execution of his narrative. The storyline was great and winding, with an excellent ending. Michael Connelly superbly crafted this one.
