Narrator Brings Mrs. Pollifax to Life!

I loved going with Mrs. Pollifax on another of her adventures! Barbara Rosenblat is one of the best narrators in the business, and she does a fantastic job bringing the inimitable Mrs. Pollifax to life. She also does a beautiful job with the accents of all the various foreign characters. I always knew who exactly was speaking from the special nuances of each character's voice. Highly recommended!

Mrs Pollifax is really good at having trouble find her. She never gives up, and keeps you guessing. Always a fun lady.

Fun, if you don’t expect a serious mystery!

This is NOT an intellectual book. Once I understood the genre, and decided to suspend my disbelief, I sat back and enjoyed the ride from one set of unlikely circumstances to another. Good, lighthearted, fun.

The narrator, Barbara Rosenblat, has an excellent range of voices and accents, making it easy to enjoy the story.

What an absolute delight this series is. My only complaint is that I will run out of books.

The hilarious adventures and terrific narration are just the upbeat cure to listen to while watering the summer garden yet again and for far too long.

a classic clean spy novel with an unusal spy

I read this series maybe 30 years ago, and was delighted when I found it here, read by one of my most favorite narrators. a great "beach read" light funny, a bit daring and exciting.

I love Mrs Pollifax

She is utterly delightful and brings everyone together to do the job needing to be done. So cute and enjoyable.

This series is proving to be perfect for family listen of all ages.

Good story with brilliant narration

Would you consider the audio edition of The Amazing Mrs. Pollifax to be better than the print version?

Yes - the narrator really makes the voices, and therefore, the personalities, come alive as she reads.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

This book had a good plot that kept me engaged - just not as engaged as I was for the first book. There was a lot of danger and humor in this story, but there weren't as many twists and turns as I would have liked.

Which character – as performed by Barbara Rosenblat – was your favorite?

Ms. Polifax is always my favorite.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I related to the moment when Ms. Polifax wishes she could just be back at her apartment relaxing rather than be in the danger she sought. We always want excitement until we get too much of it.

Any additional comments?

This was a good listen. Again, I would have liked more twists and turns, but there were a few surprises and it was exceptionally well read.

I would call the Ms. Polifax books a cozy spy series. If you like spy novels without the blood and gore, you will enjoy this. There was some language that I didn't appreciate, but it didn't take over the book, so I still enjoyed it. I will be reading more from this series.

Great story - lots of twists & wonderful eccentric characters. Barbara Rosenblatt is excellent as always. Hard to believe one person can do so many different voices so well. Looking forward to the next story!!
