Publisher's summary

Set after the fourth season of the groundbreaking television drama Sons of Anarchy, from the mind of Executive Producer Kurt Sutter....

With half of the club recently released from Stockton State Penitentiary and the Galindo drug cartel bringing down heat at every turn, the MC already has its hands full. Yet Jax Teller, the VP of SAMCRO, has another problem to deal with. He just learned that his Irish half-sister Trinity has been in the US for months entangled with Russian BRATVA gangsters. Now that she's abruptly gone missing, he's sure the brewing mafia war is connected to her disappearance. Jax heads to Nevada with Chibs and Opie to search for her and seek revenge. Trinity may be half-Irish, but she's also half-Teller, and where Teller's go, trouble follows.

An Aussie Accent? Seriously?

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator spoke with a heavy Australian or New Zealand accent that completely distracted me from the story. I found myself replaying every sentence in my mind, hearing the words in the familiar tones of Charlie Hunnam and the rest of the cast. By time I got back to actually listening the audio, I had lost track and was constantly moving back and forth in the audio, trying to find where I left off. I didn't expect to hear a celebrity impersonation of every actor on the show, but this was distracting that I could barely recognize any characters, much less keep track of what they were doing.

Any additional comments?

This tape needs to be rerecorded with someone who can at least sound like he grew up in the California redwoods, not the Australian Outback. Very, very disappointing and possibly the worst audio experience I have had since my first Audible purchase. I would return it for a full refund if I could - it's that bad.

narrator

I have to say the narrator totally ruined it for me. I had a really hard time getting into the story because of it.

Terrible

What disappointed you about Sons of Anarchy?

I couldn't listen past the first chapter

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Peter Berkrot?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. His voice works for some titles, but it is totally inappropriate for this book. Completely unlike the actual folks he portrays, but it's more than just that. His voice just doesn't even match with this particular story.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment.

Any additional comments?

I really think my disappointment is MOSTLY related to the choice of narrator. Mr. Berkrot invokes a certain persona that lends itself to many works, this just wasn't one of them.

Slow starting outbut ended up being a great story.

Was a little slow at first and the narrators character voices took getting use to. But once the rhythm was found it turned out to be a good story. I enjoyed it.

If you liked the show you'll like this book

This was a good book with a story that would have fit well in the show. I had no problem with the reader.

It's Ok

Didn't mind the story - nothing like SOA genius we've come to expect, but a fun ride nonetheless.
I found it particularly funny how many times the author chose to use the phrase "he cocked his head". That gave me a laugh every time I heard it....
