Publisher's summary

She's old-money Miami. He's barefoot Coconut Grove. The only thing they had in common was the law, until they faced each other in the steamiest murder trial of the century, a case that would make sparks fly, headlines scream, and opposites attract. Surrounded by crooks, con men, and a cast of colorful characters, Steve Solomon and Vickie Lord must solve the crime before they end up in ruin, in jail, or, worse, in bed.

Quirky and Fun

Not your average legal thriller, but enough law to ring true and a lot more fun than most. Narration was spot on. Recommended.

Pleasantly Surprised

Not knowing what to expect and never having read/listened to a Paul Levine publication, I was pleasantly surprised. The dark bantering humor and musical references added to the 'stories' with the story. Will definetly continue to the series. The characters shifted as they grew within the storyline. Love that 'Bobby'.

Delightfully funny!

If you think that the Law lacks humor, think again. Paul Levine shows us that the Law has its own special kind of Jewish humor. I don't know if we could technically call "Solomon vs. Lord" a legal thriller; but it definitely keeps the listener's attention. Mr. Levine has conceived an hilarious plot device of pitting a brilliant, by-the-book female attorney against a brilliant, by-the-seat-of-his-pants male attorney. We get to sit back and watch the sparks fly. These two were meant for each other. Plus, Mr. Levine treats us to a heart-warming, gut-wrenching sub-plot involving an adorable, special little boy. Christopher Lane narrates this audiobook with consummate expertise, giving unique voices to all the characters. I highly recommend this audiobook to anybody who enjoys humor with a little romance on the side.

A fun read

While the plot was rather shallow, the text was witty and the narrator did a terrific job. This was a "laugh out loud" kind of book.

Exhilarating!!!

This is an excellently well written book. I first wanted to hate the narrator Christopher Lane, don't ask me why. Maybe because I'd never heard him before and wasn't sure he could measure up the the level of Dick Hill or Scott Brick. I'm not always good with change, and then he sang and it was as smooth as gluten free jello-o pudding.

The character's were believable brash mouthy no it all but strangely likable people. With the exception of the villain, which is a must have in all mysteries / thrillers. I loved this book and no one could have narrated it better than Christopher Lane.

If you're on the fence about getting this book, come on over to the having read / listened to side and sit back and enjoy. You'll be glad you did.

There is some shit I will not eat! Famous last words. Enjoy, I did.

Narrator Made the Story

After hearing this great narrator, I searched for other books by Paul Levine with Christopher Lane. There are two more “Lord and Solomon” with another narrator who just doesn’t cut it. Also, other Christopher Lane books are only offered as a “initial first book” from Audible unless you want to pay up to $24! This book ended too soon. Great book!

Funny entertaining story but

Victoria is so insufferable and ANNOYING! Good lord Ive never wanted to shake a heroine as much as I wanted to shake her. The good thing is that the story and every other character made up for it. Now Im compelled to listen to the others in the series.
