Publisher's summary

For Will Innis and his daughter, Devlin, the loss was catastrophic. Every day for the past five years, they wonder where she is, if she is - Will's wife, Devlin's mother - because Rachael Innis vanished one night during an electrical storm on a lonely desert highway, and suspected of her death, Will took his daughter and fled.

Now, Will and Devlin live under different names in another town, having carved out a new life for themselves as they struggle to maintain some semblance of a family.

When, one night, a beautiful, hard-edged FBI agent appears on their doorstep, they fear the worst. But she hasn't come to arrest Will. "I know you're innocent," she tells him, "because Rachael wasn't the first...or the last."

Desperate for answers, Will and Devlin embark on a terrifying journey that spans 4,000 miles from the desert southwest to the wilds of Alaska, heading unaware into the heart of a nightmare, because the truth is infinitely worse than they ever imagined.

Okay Listen

Nothing amazing here. The writing was adequate and the story developed in a way that kept me listening. However I was not "wowed" at the end, sort of predictable. Probably would not recommend to a friend. I have heard several better books.

Crouch's books are all so different to each other

I have listen to the Wayward Pines trilogy, and enjoyed them. This is much more of a standard thriller/suspense novel. All of his books are good, and for different reasons. Snowbound is not complicated, and as twisty and full of turns, but it is well written and engaging. Enjoyed, thanks Mr. Crounch

Started out well, then went downhill

The beginning of the story was gripping. But from the climax on, it became more and more unbelievable and trite. And then the pauses in between chapters seemed to be for a made-for-TV commercial break.

Not My Favorite Blake Crouch

Yikes. Full of cliches, flat, annoying characters, and predictable plot twists. I normally love Blake Crouch, but this was a slog. This made me want to write a novel, it made it seem so easy.

Jumped The Shark, But fun

Snowbound had gigantic plot holes, required a large amount of suspension of disbelief (such as why these criminals went to such enormous cost and effort for what was essentially a house of prostitution), and yet was totally fun as I just went along for the ride.
Too many "Huh?" to count, but with engaging characters, an excellent narrator and a fast-moving plot with a cool ending, I really enjoyed it.

COME GUYS, YOU GOTTA LOVE SNOWBOUND !

Anyone who reads and savours mystery thrillers knows the dearth of satisfactory reads that get published .
I'm a woman who reads Dick Francis, Connelly, King, Masello,Sandford,Pratt.
I love legal, police, oh anything with good dialog, characters you can believe and a well paced storyline.. Too much ? Perhaps but I started SNOWBOUND at the beginning of seven hour drive home and sat in my driveway to hear the ending.
Ah,, the same satisfaction I get walking out of a good movie.
you can read the plot line, I didn't, I was in hurry but if you're looking for a large "Bag of M&M' s book" to hide away and just enjoy, Treat yourself SNOWBOUND!

Pretty good

Good story. But this was no Wayward Pines. Well worth a listen though as the performance was engaging.

Fun, engaging story, a bit hard to swallow.

Any additional comments?

I'm a fan of Blake's work and this book definitely had an intriguing plot and interesting characters, however in my opinion it required a bit too much suspension of disbelief. I'll admit I still enjoyed the book and definitely wouldn't tell anyone not to read it, but I'd warn them to know going in that they might find themselves shaking their heads for from to time.
