Publisher's summary

There's a dead man in Miki St. John's vintage Pontiac GTO, and he has no idea how it got there.

After Miki survives the tragic accident that killed his best friend and the other members of their band, Sinner's Gin, all he wants is to hide from the world in the refurbished warehouse he bought before their last tour. But when the man who sexually abused him as a boy is killed and his remains are dumped in Miki's car, Miki fears death isn't done with him yet.

Kane Morgan, the SFPD inspector renting space in the art co-op next door, initially suspects Miki had a hand in the man's murder, but Kane soon realizes Miki is as much a victim as the man splattered inside the GTO. As the murderer's body count rises, the attraction between Miki and Kane heats up. Neither man knows if they can make a relationship work, but despite Miki's emotional damage, Kane is determined to teach him how to love and be loved - provided, of course, Kane can catch the killer before Miki becomes the murderer's final victim.

Wonderful begining...

Where does Sinner's Gin rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It ranks up there, I was about to stop buying M/M romance because I was tired of the same...This was not the same ole, same ole. It was a little Josh Lanyon, meets Cardeno C.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the narrator, please, please, do not change the narrator midway through the series. I am hoping you will be consistent in this series. He did such a good job with the Irish accents, and transitioned between all the characters without sounding exaggerated. Even his female voices were believable.

Which character – as performed by Tristan James – was your favorite?

My favorite character was Miki St John.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not have an extreme reaction, but I definitely had a surprised and pleasant reaction. It did make me laugh, though.

Any additional comments?

Must listen to the next in the series.

great stuff

If you could sum up Sinner's Gin in three words, what would they be?

intrigue, interesting, irish

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kane, I enjoyed his rows with dude, and this allowed me to envision him as a neighbor perhaps. realistic

What does Tristan James bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

his voice is wonderful and the irish brogue is great. I think truly he made the story come alive. I did have a little bit of trouble telling some of the Morgan boys apart, but wonderfully done.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes

Any additional comments?

I didn't honestly know what to expect with this book, but it turned out to be the right amount of humor, intrigue and romance. Plus DUDE was terrific

Wonderful ENTERTAINING story!!!

What did you love best about Sinner's Gin?

Just LOVED this book!!!! Miki was so full of personality and was totally hilarious but broken as well, Kane was a perfect fit for him plus the Morgan family as well. (Miki's internal dialect with himself regarding Kane' s mom was just hilarious!) I'm not much for a suspense/mystery type of book but this was the PERFRCT combination of both suspense/drama and romance all intertwined to make a excellent read!!! I've already bought the next book in the series to start listening to on audio. :-) Kudos also to the sexy voice narrator Tristian James what a perfect Irish Gaelic to his voice!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Miki because he was so full of personality and because of his inner strength!!

What about Tristan James’s performance did you like?

PERFECT voice and his Irish accent was sexy as he'll!!

Any additional comments?

Great book and I'm already going to listen to the next in this series!!

Great narration

This book was recommended to me in a group from FB. It was a great story. Very well written. I loved it.
Very slow burn. I don't normally go for drawn out stories like this. When books are this long they need to have just a little bit more action for me. I was engaged throughout the whole book. And I loved how the author didn't make everything perfect. Although I did very much enjoy this book, not sure if my curiosity of what will happen in the next story outweighs my need for the story to be told a bit quicker. I can see myself reading this book manually and really enjoying it. This was a great story and well worth my credit. I just think I would rather read the next one and not listen to it.

Great start to a series

What a great story and equal or better (?) narration! This is my first audio book and after checking out a few samples, I see how the narrator is so critical to the success.
A friend on Goodreads recommended this to me and I am thrilled with it. I have already done book two and three. This narrator has the sexiest voice, I'm hooked on him. I also like the authors work very much and will be checking out all works.

Tristan James *rowr*

Any additional comments?

I'm not going to play, Tristan James is a favorite narrator of mine, hands down. He could read the phone book and I might find it engrossing. Luckily, this kick ass story is a helluva lot better than the phone book!

I loved the close Irish family (my parents are very similar to Donal and Brigid so the interactions made me chuckle), the cop partner dynamic between Kel and Kane, and, mostly, the way Kane understood that Miki is, well, damaged, irreparably in some ways, but still able to create a connection.

I liked the story, though I found the stalker/murderer storyline to be tied up a little too neatly in the end.

All in all, I really enjoyed this and I look forward to spending more time with the Morgan clan.

And WOW do I love Tristan James. That man's voice does things to me...

Um...not those kinds of things! I mean he has a great narrative voice! Get your minds out of the gutter! His accents are terrific and he makes any story better. It didn't make me less baffled by the ending, but it did make it more entertaining.

This is a sexy, fast-paced, hurt/comfort, murder mystery with great narration and scorching hot sexy times!

The start of something great

I cannot recommend the Sinners series by Rhys Ford enough. I love every aspect, from the characters to the settings to the cover art. Tristan James does an amazing jobbring it all to life in his narration. Do not hesitate to give this author, series and narrator a try.
