Had me hooked

I had seen the movie years ago, so I knew the events of the story, in full, before they were going to happen; and I still had a great time listening to this book! Wonderfully written with great descriptions and dialog between the characters. The narrator is also one of the best I've heard.

Great book, but am issue with chapters

Loved the movie so I decided to check out the book, and I'd say the movie was pretty accurate. My only issue I had with this audiobook was that the chapters were messed up for me. The incorrect number of chapters were listed in the app, and each "chapter" actually consisted of 1 1/2 - 2 chapters, so I would like to see Amazon fix that if it's not just an issue with my app.

The narrator is amazing! I felt like I was Teddy. The author has so much compassion and understanding of mental illness and writes about it so well and humanely that I wish I could give him an award.:) seriously, listen to this book, you won’t regret it.

Book or Movie?

I haven't seen the movie yet. But before reading it (listened) I'd seen the movie trailer and some pictures of it. The trailer was excellent, so when my audible credit arrived, I just download the book. The fact that it was written by Dennis Lehane (Mystic River), gave me some additional guarantee.

Now, I think this is a brilliant book, really good, but it's also a brilliant movie script. This book screams CINEMA from start to end.

I think I had some little spoilers before reading it and the image of DiCaprio's and some of the other characters just moulded my imagination while listening to it.

I'm sure this is a really great movie, but now that I've listened to the book, the spoilers are huge, specially because this is one of those movies/books with a great twist in the end.

Pick you poison, you have two great options.

Shutter Island

Great story line. Interesting characters. Very enjoyable book. Love the twist at the end.

Riveting, could not put it down, great narrerator, recommend as a must read. A true beginning, middle and end.

Great Book!

This is going on my list of favorite books of all time. Can't wait to see the movie; although, it can't be as good as the book.

Wonderful

This was the first book I experienced on audible. Great voice acting, great story. I fell in love and listened to this in about 24 hours. Highly recommended.

I love a twist in the plot!

I love Dennis Lehane's work! Shutter Island was no exception! I was left guessing all the way to the end. I even saw the movie after listening to the book and although it never compares, it too was good. I recommend this book!

Oh my God!

I'm so disturbed by this book, there are NO words! My stepdaughter recently read the paperback as part of a school project, and told me I should really read it. I'm literally texting her at ten pm on a Saturday night, like WHAT DID YOU DO???? And secretly wondering who else I can make read this. This story takes gaslighting to a whole new (possible) level. is there a support group for after-care?
