Great book, narration horrible

I am absolutely enthralled with the Mitch Rapp series and this book doesn't disappoint. However, the narrator is absolutely horrible. I would have stopped listening and read the book but I do not have that amount of time. I listen to the books on my hour long drive to work every morning and I was really tempted to cut this book really short due to the way it was read. I really didn't want to skip it to go to the next book so I continued on. With my ears bleeding, I finally made the end.
The voices were absolutely horrible and he made Mitch sound like a whiny school boy. The other voices were just as bad and I cannot in good faith recommend hearing this guy.
If in fact you do listen to him, be aware that your ears may bleed. your temperature will probably rise and you may end up with a case of turrets while listening.
As agonizing as it was to listen to this book, the story itself was great!! I recommend reading it though to save yourself and mind from the horribleness ( yeah, I don't think thats a word ) your about to encounter by pressing play.

Crappy narrator

i hated the narrator. I hated his voice and he sounded as if he were yelling EVERYTHING!!!!

Long winded

Story was drawn out quite a bit. Full sections were repeated unnecessarily about thoughts of love and relationship. Literally skipped full chapters to try to get through it. Once the action started in the last 3 chapters it got interesting.

Great Book, needs a deeper voiced narrator though.

Not the best narrator. Too much nasal for the voice of Rapp. However, love the story, every time. Flynn is an excellent writer, with just the right amount of detail.

Least favorite in the series so far

For 3/4 of the book, I had a very hard time getting into it. As the stories tie together and the ending is near, it starts to get more thrilling and moves faster which are the attributes I experienced through the entire book of each of the priors. I imagine it has mostly to do with the performance which I felt was over-acted and unrepresentative of the characters. But the story also seemed very slow to get started and also contained a too-juvenile relationship story that I mostly skipped through.

Regardless, I loved the prior books and look forward to the next one while hoping it gets back on track to the same style, intrigue and excitement of the others.

Great book, did not like narrator

Narrator seemed to only to make Rapp either winey or angry for most of the book. It got a little better towards the end. It was such a different character portrait of Rapp it was difficult to listen to at times, especially the first half of the book. But the story was good and in the end the emotions were more towards normal.

Get someone else!

What made the experience of listening to Separation of Power the most enjoyable?

Like everyone else I must say the narration was the worst ever! So bad that it changes the personality of Mitch and the other key players. I dont like Anna anyway but this made her out to be such a whiny BiTch. The story was very good and unfolded at a nice pace, worth giving a try.

Kennedy-she has backbone and is level headed

Narrator ruined the story

Another good story in the Mitch Rapp series. Almost gave up on it though as the narrator makes Mitch sound like a winer and over exaggerated all the character's reactions.

Great Story - Bad Read

Once again Vince Flynn puts forth an excellent story. The problem with this book is the reader. I do not intend to mislead, he is an excellent reader with all the necessary skills. It is his interpretation of the characters that misses the mark.

The reader uses a high pitched stressful voice for Mitch, and others, something that just does not fit the characters. In fact his interpretation of the characters voice pitch and over excited voices seriously detracts from the character and the story.

I think I will buy the print book so I can enjoy this book as much as I have enjoyed the others I have listened to.

Book seems okay; narrator is AWFUL!

I normally like the Mitch Rapp books but it must be because I read them rather than listen to them. The narrator of this book is terrible. Every character comes across as having an anger management problem, even when joking around or in a calm setting. Never heard so many tense, angry words from a group of people. I’ve having trouble getting through this book because of the narrator.
