Publisher's summary

Lily Ivory hopes for a normal life when she opens Aunt Cora's Closet. With her magical knack for vintage fashion - she can sense vibrations of the past from clothing and jewelry - her store becomes a big hit. But when a client is murdered and children start disappearing from the Bay Area, Lily may be the only one who can unravel the crime.

She tries to keep her identity a secret while investigating, but it's not easy - especially under the spells of sexy "mythbuster" Max Carmichael and powerful witch Aidan Rhodes. Will Lily's witchy ways be forced out of the closet?

Critic reviews

"Lily Ivory is a 21st-century Samantha Stevens, minus the nose wriggling. The story combines fun and seriousness for an entertaining read." ( Romantic Times)

Very entertaining

This was the first one if her books I have listened to and enjoyed the story line and the narrator. Not your usual run of the mill witchy book.

Wonderfully narrated. A nice surprise of a story. Getting the next one now. The characters are very interesting. Can't wait to build on it.

Great Series

I bought this book at a reduced rate. I figured if it wasn’t very good, and I only read about half of it, I wasn’t out much money. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was captivated from the first chapter and quickly listened to the last.

Right after writing this review, I’ll be buying the next book in the series and most likely all the books after that.

Enticing plot. Quirky compelling characters. Great narrator.

Speak up!

Would you try another book from Juliet Blackwell and/or Xe Sands?

I would try another book by Juliet Blackwell, or even this book, but only with a different reader. I would not listen to Xe Sands again.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Xe Sands?

Anyone

Any additional comments?

The narrator constantly spoke in a half-whisper. It was grating, and the reason I stopped listening to the book after a few chapters.

Tried as a special...

When Audible has a sale and it includes the first of a series that I think I might be interested in, I give it a chance; hating to pass up any book at a bargain. I have enough drama and need for reading technical literature in real life and look for entertainment in most of my reading material. I like the format and characters to entertain and interest me. This series is starting out to do just that. It's fun and entertaining and the hours flew by. I was able to multitask while listening and didn't miss the storyline while attending to other activities that didn't need any conscious thought. All in all, it's just what I look for in a novel. I would have liked a little more depth of character and thought that there were parts that could have used a little more detail in order to "paint" a better picture of where it was coming from and, since it is a series, where it may be heading, instead of just a "tease" of what's to come. But, that being said, I will be getting additional books in the series. It may not be perfect, but it is entertainment and a fun read.

Pretty Good

The entire book was slow going but it was worth it which is why I only gave it 3 stars. The plot was interesting and the characters were likeable. I wish more of the books from this series were available. If so I would but buy them. As it is I will probably be tempted to by the ebook version. This book is worth the credit.

A real treat!

As a native San Franciscan and fan of witch novels I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I usually listen while driving but this story and its narrator had me making excuses to turn on the book and listen. Thanks for a great story. I can't wait to hear the next one.
