    "His best book yet"

I have a personal policy of writing reviews only for books which I would give 5 stars to, because they are the books I tell my friends about. I read Michael Robotham's first 2 books, and they were quite good, but not gripping. Say Your Sorry is different. It got me in right from the start, and kept me enthralled wright to the last chapter. One of the best points about it was the passages written from the point of view of one of the victims. Often I find books that alternate between past and present to be confusing, and the technique can detract from the suspense. But with this story the excursions into the recent past only add to the drama. Although there is some graphic detail, Robotham doesn't go overboard with the sex, blood and guts. If you like a thrilling crime novel that has you cheering on the sleuths and the victims, this one's well worth your credit.

    "Brilliant story"
Would you listen to Say You're Sorry again? Why?

It is more than just a story about kidnapped girls. It is also about Joe the psychologist with Parkinson's who is a brilliant analyzer of characters and you might learn a thing or two about psychology while enjoying the listen.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Joe

What does Sean Barrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrater's voice is a perfect fit with Joe. His voice really matches the character. A pleasure to listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

the book was about 12 hours, so that wouldn't work, but I listened to it every chance I got.

    "Excellent plot, superbly narrated..."

Very good indeed! The plot did well and truly thicken as the book progressed, and I found myself listening at every opportunity to find out 'whodunit'! At the end of the book I found myself in tears, such was my empathy with the characters.

Sean Barrett reads superbly, as always. He is one of the few male readers who can 'do' women without making them sound either simpering or halfwitted. Much of this story is in the voice of an 18 year old female, and he does an impeccable job.

If you like detective stories, this comes very highly recommended indeed!

"The Best Book I have ever listened to"

Wow, what a book. Having listened to all of Michael Robotham books I couldn't wait for the latest and it surpassed all I could have wished for. It is brilliant certainly the best book I have ever listened to.

So good, in fact, that I couldn't decide whether to listen to the whole series again or just re-listen to ths one. My decision was to listen to this one again and strange as it may seem this is even better the second time around a true sign of an exceptional book. I cannot wait to get to bed at night to listen and, at least, this time around I will not have to be listening at four in the morning my knowing the plot I can take my time. Thank you Michael Robotham the best audio book out there.

    "Dark and Powerful"

I couldn't switch this book off and listened to it in 2 days. A rich and gripping story, narrated beautifully. I was slightly put off at first hearing a man speaking the part of a teenage girl but his gentle tones soon carried me into the story and I found myself enthralled. A superb story with twists and turns to the very end. Loved it.

"The best yet in an absolutely excellent series"

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the Michael Robotham books that I have read or listened to - but I would agree with a number of other reviewers that this latest story involving Joe O'Loughlin and Vincent Ruiz surpasses even the others. I could not stop listening, with the result that I have completed in just a couple of days and now can only look forward to the next audible title being launched next week!
Because of the subject matter I have been steering clear of 'Say You're Sorry' for sometime - however when considering again recently I saw a comment from one reviewer that made me take a chance. Certainly if anyone else out there particularly dislikes the idea of young girls being kidnapped and imprisoned I would say that I found the story was handled incredibly well without any gratuitious violence or sexual titillation and was perfectly OK to listen to. Clues were so skilfully laid that I believed I could see 5 possible suspects and although 1 of my choices was indeed correct I had still not made a final choice until right up to the very end. Absolutely first rate - and fully deserves 5 stars on all fronts, Sean Barrett as always putting in a marvellous performance.

    "Gripped me from the beginning!!"

Another great crime busting novel from Michael Robotham, gripping, with twists and turns to keep you head spinning, couldnt wait to get back to it each time I had to break away. I always download lenghty books to keep me occupied on my long commute and I am sometimes disappointed that the story is sometimes lost in lenghtier books but not so with this one. It can be a little confusing as the majority of the story is a "narration" from one of the victims referring back to the beginning of events and then bringing you right back to present day, however the "confusion" also keeps you guessing, right to the end, who is responsible for the abduction of the two girls, the motive, what is going to happen to Piper, and many more. With its suspense and intrigue it leads you down one way and then another, not giving you the full explanation until the last chapter. A fantastic read, well narrated - one of the best crime thrillers I have read this year.

    "Superb - best one yet!"

Both my wife and I loved this one. I found the relationship between Joe and Ruiz much more believable this time, Joe doesn't go on too much about 'Mr Parkinson' and his being asked to help the police seems almost plausible. This book has it all; suspense, suspicion, romance, red herrings, crushing disappointment, sadness..... Until now I didn't think any of these would beat Shatter but this one is brilliant. Oh, and it's read by the master Shaun Barrett who is as flaweless as ever. On to the next one!

    "Wow! a great book"

Gets into it right from the start. I could not stop listening. A very good book. There is a little bit of nasty but not much. Had me gripped with patches of suspense throughout. The reader was just right for this book too.

I really enjoyed this book and really didn't want it to end. This is my second book from this author, the first one being Shatter and I love the main characters so much I will be getting the earlier books in the series. It comes very highly recommended from me!!

A gripping read from start to finish! Some very blunt language which takes a little getting used to, but acceptable in the overall context of the book. A great first book to download!

    "Gripping"

I have only just discovered this author which is great news for me as I can now look forward to reading his other novels! Wonderfully written by an author of some considerable talent, paced just right, with nicely drawn characters and great plot. I will also say that I thought Sean Barrett narration was great. Highly recommended.
