Publisher's summary

My name is Piper Hadley and I went missing on the last Saturday of the summer holidays three years ago.

When Piper and her friend Tash disappeared, there was a huge police search, but they were never found. Now Tash, reaching breaking point at the abuse their captor has inflicted on them, has escaped, promising to come back for Piper. Clinical psychologist Joe O'Loughlin and his stalwart companion, ex-cop Vincent Ruiz, force the police to re-open the case after Joe is called in to assess the possible killer of a couple in their own home and finds a connection to the missing girls. But they are racing against time to save Piper from someone with an evil, calculating and twisted mind....

It is more than just a story about kidnapped girls. It is also about Joe the psychologist with Parkinson's who is a brilliant analyzer of characters and you might learn a thing or two about psychology while enjoying the listen.

Joe

What does Sean Barrett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrater's voice is a perfect fit with Joe. His voice really matches the character. A pleasure to listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

the book was about 12 hours, so that wouldn't work, but I listened to it every chance I got.

I'm a great fan of Michael Robotham he is a great story tellers who keeps you guessing. Sean Barrett is a very good narrator and he doesn't do the silly voices for women which is refreshing.

My first Michael Robotham book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is the first book I have ever read of Michael Robotham ( or should I say had read to me as I bought it as an audible book awhile back now for a cruise but never read it) What a brilliant author I listened to 7 hours of it at the weekend and finished it today, character profiles are excellent and you really get into the book. I just HAD to finish it today and the twist in the ending I was not expecting. A very enjoyable Listen :-)
