Publisher's summary

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts comes a seductive and suspenseful novel of dangerous liaisons and family betrayals....

Photographer Jo Ellen Hathaway thought she'd escaped the house called Sanctuary long ago. She'd spent her loneliest years there, after the sudden, unexplained disappearance of her mother. Yet the sprawling inn on an island off the Georgia coast continues to haunt her dreams. And now, even more haunting are the pictures someone is sending her: strange close-ups and candids, culminating in the most shocking portrait of all - a photo of her mother - naked, beautiful, and dead.

Now Jo must return to the island, and to her bitterly estranged family. With the help of Nathan Delaney - who was on the island the summer her mother disappeared - Jo hopes to learn the truth about the tragic past. But Sanctuary may be the most dangerous place of all.

A really good romance-mystery

Nora Roberts has romance down Pat, with all the edge of your seat excitement of a good mystery! Characters are well described and very believable as are the details of the surroundings that paint a vivid picture. I liked the suspense, the characters the descriptions of Desire and Sanctuary. Sands Burr has a wonderfully narrative voice and carries the reader right along in the story. I always love the romance Nora Roberts shares with her readers and the suspense in her mysteries keeps my attention to the very end. And I like the happy endings.

Incomplete story

I really wish that the epilogue included where everyone ended up. Such as did Sam ask Kate to marry him. Did Brian get his woman. Where did Lexie end up? And of course where did Jo and Nate end up

I can’t finish it.

This book was so hard to listen to. The voice artist has such a fake accent and little difference between men and women characters. I gave up in hour 3.

The BROTHER

I was sometimes confused with the male characters. I never imagined the brother wasn't dead. Good twist
I could have used a little less sex. But I guess that sells.

Great on all levals

If you could sum up Sanctuary in three words, what would they be?

Suspense, Humor, Romance

What other book might you compare Sanctuary to and why?

I like when Nora Roberts add Murder Mystery along with humor and romance well rounded book that keeps you listening.

Have you listened to any of Sandra Burr’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I Love Sandra and have purchased a few of her audio's just because she was the narrator

Enjoyed the story but got tired of the narrator

This was a suspenseful, didn't figure out the "nut" until very close to the end, which I think makes it a good story. But, as I noted in the headline, I got so tired of the narrator that I was ready for it to end. I generally pick a number of the books that I listen to based on the narrator--I thought I like Sandra Burr better (I will still listen her, I think). One other thing on the story, I will say NR could have done a better in her Epilogue.
