Publisher's summary

In the year 2060, sophisticated investigative tools can help catch a killer. But there are some questions even the most advanced technologies cannot answer...
Harlan Coben says, "J.D. Robb's In Death novels are can't-miss pleasures." Her latest is no exception, as the priest at a Catholic funeral mass brings the chalice to his lips - and falls over dead...

When Detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas confirms that the consecrated wine contained potassium cyanide, she's determined to solve the murder of Father Miguel Flores, despite her discomfort with her surroundings. It's not the bodegas and pawn shops of East Harlem that bother her, though the neighborhood is a long way from the stone mansion she shares with her billionaire husband Roarke. It's all that holiness flying around at St. Christobal's that makes her uneasy.
A search of the victim's sparsely furnished room reveals little - except for a carefully hidden religious medal with a mysterious inscription, and a couple of underlined Bible passages. The autopsy reveals more: faint scars of knife wounds, a removed tattoo - and evidence of plastic surgery suggesting "Father Flores" may not be the man his parishioners thought. Now, as Eve pieces together clues that suggest identity theft, gang connections, and a deeply personal act of revenge, she hopes to track down whoever committed this unholy act. Until a second murder - in front of an even larger crowd of worshippers - knocks the whole investigation sideways.

Book 27 of the Best Series Ever!

The 'In Death' series, written by J.D. Robb & narrated by Susan Ericksen, is a futuristic suspense series. The story is set in mid-21st-century New York City & it centers around Lieutenant Eve Dallas & her billionaire husband, Roarke.

My husband & I both love all of the J.D. Robb, 'In Death' series. We first began listening to them when they were on CDs. We've listened to the entire series, in order, three times so far! If we're driving somewhere, you can be sure Eve, Roarke, Peabody, McNab, Capt. Feeney, Mavis, Dr. Mira, Nadine, Summerset & the rest of the gang are in the truck with us. We love all of the major characters & look forward, with anticipation, to the new audiobooks that come out in February & September every year!

If you're looking for an awesome mystery series, a little romance with a bit of the futuristic thrown in, then you'll love this series! Believe me, you just can't go wrong, but be warned... once you get started, you'll be hooked!

This is my first written review for this series

I have either read or listened to all twenty-seven which includes Salvation in Death. I almost didn’t buy it because of the bad reviews. I’m so glad I did. It is not slow, or boring as some of reviewers stated. It has twists and turns that keep you wondering, love and laughter that can only happen with friends and family..
I hope there are many of you that feel as I do, the death series rocks!!

Priest in Death

This is one of the more original books in this series, and it’s interesting to see how the story unravels.
Ericksen does an amazing job voicing the characters in this series.
Well done on all levels!

loved it, another hit

The only thing that I might wish to change in these stories is a little more Eve and Roarke on the personal level even though I know the books are about her detective work.

Dallas

A twist to the story and an extra death changes things up for Eve Dallas. Everything you would expect with some sweet Eve and Roark moments.

Excessive bitchiness

The book is a good one. Interesting case. I’m beginning to get tired of Eve’s anger issues.
Between the overdone sex scenes and the anger outbursts the actual plot suffers.

Awesome

She never disappoints! I am rereading from book 1 to 28. Just finished! Hope she cuts back on the sex scenes there becoming a little too much. But, I will still plow on into the next book. Keep up the amazing work.

Eve really made me angry this time around.

I'm almost at the point that I want to continue on with the series because of the secondary characters, I'm about tired of Lieutenant Eve. I'm tired of her bullying her way through. But I thoroughly enjoy the rest of the characters.
