Critic reviews

"Yo ho ho? get ready for a ripping good yarn.... This nonstop action adventure has all the elements of a perfect summertime thriller - pirate treasure of unimaginable worth, 300-year-old cryptograms written in invisible ink, a legendary curse, and a driven captain who will stop at nothing to reach his goal. The red-hot authors of Reliquary score another big winner." ( Library Journal)

Definitely recommend

gripping story, great characters. unfortunately, I knew what the problem was before the main character, but the story was well-written and exciting. kept me looking forward to when I could listen next.

Classic Child and Preston storytelling

Pure escapism, no great truth to be found - just good fun. Kept me entertained and involved.

Riptide was a real ride...

Where does Riptide rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was an entertaining read. I would put it somewhere in the midle of all the books I've listened to.

Would you recommend Riptide to your friends? Why or why not?

I would recommend this book. I though it was well written, had an interesting, and at times suspenseful, plot and the narrator, Scott Brick, does a great job on all the books he narrates.

Which scene was your favorite?

There are a great many entertaining scenes in the book, but I don't want to detail any lest I spoil the book for any potential listeners.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could see listening to this all at one go, but I split it into a two day "read".

They've done it again!

Any additional comments?

I got hooked on these authors by reading the Pendergast series. Riptide is a wonderful stand alone story. The reader is excellent, clear, and very enjoyable to listen to. The story has great characters and the plot fascinated me. Five stars on all fronts, highly recommended.
