Publisher's summary

International assassin Gideon spilled blood for the first time when he was seven years old, with a single shot to the head of a man who was attempting to kill the woman Gideon had known as his mother. The victim was none other than his own father, a man of unspeakable evil. This pivotal event shaped Gideon throughout his life, made him who he is, one of the fiercest, most feared hired guns in the world.

And one of the most hunted.

After nearly losing his life in Antigua during a mission that went terribly wrong, Gideon trusts no one. But when a former lover and grifter, Arizona, resurfaces in need of his skills, she reminds him he was indebted to a man who had once saved his life: the son of the legendary con-man Scamz. Gideon is forced to take on an assignment which will lead him to Argentina in pursuit of a briefcase containing one part of a larger puzzle.

The "package" contains material that another group of assassins - the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse - will kill to obtain and protect. One of the leaders of the Four Horsemen has a connection to Gideon that neither man is aware of - a connection that will be exposed when they meet face-to-face and gun-to-gun.

Each member of The Four Horsemen is a world-class killer, each with a dark and dangerous past, and nothing will stop that team of renegades from completing their mission.

As Gideon struggles to keep promises and uncover information about his past, he finds himself at the center of the ultimate double-cross and he is forced to do what he must to protect himself and those closest to him. Set amidst the exotic and vibrant streets of Miami and Buenos Aires, Resurrecting Midnight is an action-filled, pulse-pounding thriller from best-selling author Eric Jerome Dickey.

Lost in Latin America

I love the Gideon character! I used to picture him as a sexy, dark chocolate warrior, but this book which delves into his heritage, changes all that. He's even more of a mystery now. Gideon has ISSUES, but I guess he'd have to, to be a hitman. EJD leaves a lot of loose ends, so I guess we'll have to wait until the next installment in the series comes out on Audible to find out what happened. Great book. My only complaint is that the plethora of Spanish became distracting at times and there was a heavy emphasis on the Medianoche (Midnight) and "schrapnel face girl" characters -- neither of whom I liked. I anxiously await the next book!

Awesome!!!

Now this book was a ride. I felt up, down, laughed, and angry. First I'd like to say that after reading this series I don't think I'll ever trust anyone named Thelma.

Resurrecting Midnight is action packed. This is what I was looking for in the series. The amount of research thst EJD put into this one makes the reader feel like we were actually walking around in this South American city.

Now things I don't like about Gideon in this book. and honestly it isn't a negative. The fact that these characters can make me upset says something about how the much I love the series. But Gideon has this irritating fascination with Arizona. It really annoys me. I also don't like how much he talks about his abuse every single chapter. He will talk about being abused... have sex... talk about being abused. It's hard for me to enjoy the sex scenes because I just read a scene about a pedophile. If I can't read it, how can Gideon ctually do it?

And then there is the Horseman. I loved the idea of this group. Hated Senorita Ravens character but loved the Horsemen. Why do all powerful women in these books have to be emotionally challenged or just extra crazy. Why can't we just have a bad ass female assasin?

Narrator, Dion Graham, did such a good job. Kodos to him. And before I go, Shotgun is so adorable so glad he played a major part in the final battle.

Best book in the series!

This was the best book in the series! I was sitting on the edge of my seat the entire time. I kept screaming on no!! OMG! I still want more! Mr.Dickey please give us more of Gideon. Dion Graham has the perfect voice for Gideon. There was so much action in this book. So many twists and turns! If you haven't read about Gideon you should buy this book and the rest of the series!

What a listen, loved it.

Where does Resurrecting Midnight rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Resurrecting Midnight and the 3 preceding books are ranked in the top 4 of my listening so far.

What other book might you compare Resurrecting Midnight to and why?

I cant compare it to any, It is rare that you find a multilingual ,intellectual, violent, loving and exotic black man in one character.

What does Dion Graham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Dion did it again. He owns this character. Smooth.....

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wanted more Gideon and his quests

Any additional comments?

If your looking for action and adventure this is the book for you.
