Three young women are found floating in a lake.
The suspect is one of the richest and most powerful men in Tennessee. Reasonable Fear is the fourth of the bestselling Joe Dillard series offered by Scott Pratt. In this tale, Dillard has become the district attorney in Northeast Tennessee. He becomes heavily involved in the investigation with Sheriff Leon Bates and soon realizes that he is up against an enemy that he has never before encountered - someone so rich and so powerful that the course of justice could be altered by money and political influence. But when bodies start showing up in his driveway and his family is threatened with termination, Dillard must ask himself a previously unthinkable question. His life, and the lives of his family, depend on the answer.

I love espionage, legal, and detective thrillers but listen to most genres. Very frequent reviews. No plot spoilers! Please excuse my typos!
Scott Pratt writes a heck of a thriller. Reasonable Fear is Book 4 in the Joe Dillard novel series, So far all have earned 5 stars, but this is the best yet. Narration by Tim Campbell is stellar.
This novel qualifies as a legal thriller and an action thriller. For thriller lovers it is a must read.
Scott Pratt is awesome, Joe Dillard is awesome, great series, great narrator. Highly recommended. Love it, you will as well.
Scott Pratt's books are such good legal thrillers, I guess I would call them. The fact that they are set in my home state of Tennessee just makes them that much more interesting for me! And the new book, Justice Redeemed is set in my hometown But I would enjoy them no matter what state they were set in. I have gotten very little accomplished since I have been listening to his books for the past couple of weeks and haven't been able to stop listening. I think I have only two more left in one series and I am hoping he publishes more soon!! If you are on the fence about using your credits for the Joe Dillard series or the new book, Justice Redeemed by Scott Pratt, I say go for it! I usually like to buy books that are 10 to 12 hours in length. Although these books are somewhere in the 6-1/2 to 8-1/2 hour range, I am perfectly comfortable spending my credits on them.
I was not a fan after reading the first book, but because I had bought all of them, I felt committed to reading them. And, I am glad I did. Pratt's books are getting progressively better, and I am enjoying them immensely. This is an audible review site, but I only listen to books when there is no other choice. I do not care for men using falsetto when reading a female's part, and someone else's inflection just isn't as good as mine--we probably all feel the same way. Audible is great when taking a long trip.
Each book in this series does not disappoint. This one continues with life of Joe Dillard taking a different twist yet remaining consistent to his character. I can't put book down and when finished can't wait for the next.
Neither is better than the other, but they do NOT match. This was in my review on book 1. I enjoy reading along but it is nearly impossible when on each page there is an alteration; sometimes full paragraphs are added or omitted. I am on book 5 currently, and can say that none of the books audio and kindle match.
It did, especially the ending. It is riveting as so much happens to the Dillard's that they can remain level headed.
Even Better! Tim Campbell gets better with each book. In book 1 he really struggled to separate the voices for each character. He does so great here, i wish i could give a 4.5.
How do you define Reasonable Fear?
Cannot wait to finish this series, it is so good!
I have read the previous books in this series and enjoyed them all, but this is my favorite so far. If you like Joe I think you will love him in this book!
I very much enjoyed reasonable fear. My only negative comment would be that Mr. Pratt should better research his medical knowledge. There is a BIG difference between a cardiac event and a stroke. 2 completely different body systems. One is obviously the heart the other is the brain. Once I got past that section I was right back into the story!!
Love this series. Tough, tender, emotional..exciting. Makes you love the good guy who cannot be corrupted by money or power.
