Publisher's summary

They died with smiles on their faces. Three apparent suicides: a brilliant engineer, an infamous lawyer, and a controversial politician. Three strangers with nothing in common - and no obvious reasons for killing themselves. Police lieutenant Eve Dallas found the deaths suspicious. And her instincts paid off when autopsies revealed small burns on the brains of the victims. Was it a genetic abnormality or a high-tech method of murder?

Eve's investigation turned to the provocative world of virtual reality games - where the same techniques used to create joy and desire could also prompt the mind to become the weapon of its own destruction.

Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

GOING BACK TO #4 AFTER LISTENING TO MOST RECENT

Would you listen to Rapture in Death again? Why?

YES
I WAS CONCERNED THAT I WOULD BE BORED. I HAVE LISTENED TO MOST OF THIS SERIES AND ALWAYS COME BACK TO IT. I HAVE EVEN LISTENED TO #33 THE MOST RECENT. I HAD MISSED THIS EARLIER VERSION. I WASN'T DISSAPPOINTED. YES THE CHARACTERS HAVE EVOLVED AND I AM AMAZED HOW THIS AUTHOR IS ABLE TO KEEP THEM EVOLVING AND THE MURDERS AREN'T THE REASON TO LISTEN BUT THE CHARACTERS. I STILL ENJOYED #4 AS IT JUST BROUGHT ME BACK IN TIME AND SHOWED THE RELATIONSHIPS EARLIER ON.
I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE THAT HAS NOT LISTENED TO THIS SERIES START WITH THE FIRST ONE AND GO STRAIGHT THROUGH NOT MISSING ANY. I CAN'T GIVE A NEGATIVE ABOUT ANY OF THE BOOKS.

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

SHE DOES ALL THE VOICES WITH THE ENTIRE SERIES AND YOU INSTANTLY RECOGNIZE THEM. SHE NEVER CHANGES THE VOICES AND YOU KNOW WHO THE CHARACTERS ARE. THE VOICES AND INFLECTIONS ARE VERY GOOD FOR EACH CHARACTER.

Mind games done electronically

Our story starts with Eve Dallas chasing villians in holographic play on the last day of her honeymoon on the Olympus Resort space station, then dealing with the first suspicious death. With a week spent on the island, a week in Paris, and Eve’s first trip into space for week 3, it’s been a honeymoon to remember. They return home to deal with mind manipulation on two levels. Mavis pursues a promising career opportunity that she desperately hopes will pan out. Her confidence is still low after her arrest and losing her gig at the Blue Squirrel. Not Robb’s strongest plot, but there’s memorable moments.
Ericksen does a great job of narration.

We Trust you have Enjoyed

What an understatement! All authors should have such a talented narrator reading thier work. Especially if thier writing is this good.

This tantalizing story is a nice change from the authors standard sociopathic male brutalizing women. Even so, characters are developed, bodies drop, and the fast pace excitement is enough to keep you on edge minute after minute. A rich who done it where our girl gets bumped, bruised while bringing about justice Dallas style. Very exciting! An audio adventure with twist and turns.

Madr me wish there was an Eve Dallas in my town. If not the woman then maybe a poster to place inside my locker.
