Publisher's summary

The action begins six days after a series of explosions devastated Washington, D.C., targeting the National Counterterrorism Center and killing 185 people, including public officials and CIA employees. It was a bizarre act of extreme violence that called for extreme measures on the part of elite counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp and his trusted team member, Mike Nash.

Now that the initial shock of the catastrophe is over, key Washington officials are up in arms over whether to make friends or foes of the agents who stepped between the enemy's bullets and countless American lives regardless of the legal consequences. Not for the first time, Rapp finds himself in the frustrating position of having to illustrate the realities of national security to politicians whose view from the sidelines is inevitably obstructed.

Meanwhile, three of the al Qaeda terrorists are still at large, and Rapp has been unofficially ordered to find them by any means necessary. No one knows the personal, physical, and emotional sacrifices required of the job better than Rapp. When he sees Nash cracking under the pressure of the mission and the memories of the horrors he witnessed during the terrorist attack, he makes a call he hopes will save his friend, assuage the naysayers on Capitol Hill, and get him one step closer to the enemy before it's too late.

Once again, Rapp proves himself to be a hero unafraid "to walk the fine line between the moral high ground and violence" (The Salt Lake Tribune) for our country's safety, for the sake of freedom, for the pursuit of honor.

"Flynn demonstrates that he truly understands the psyche of the enemy.... Really scary, so realistic." (BookReporter.com)

Fabulous espionage thriller!

I'm listening to all of Vince Flynn's novels for the third time, this time in no specific order. Pursuit of Honor in novel #12 in order of Mitch Rapp's life, #10 in the Rapp series in order written, and novel #11 in order written of all of Vince Flynn's novels.

I've said before that in my opinion Vince Flynn is the best and most consistent author of espionage thrillers ever. He simply had no peers. The Mitch Rapp series is the best espionage thriller series ever written. Every novel written by Vince Flynn is as close to perfect as a novel gets. When Flynn died three years ago the world lost its best author.

Pursuit of Honor is superbly written and narrated. In the novel we see a mature Mitch Rapp 20 years into his CIA career.

Keeps getting better

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The book works in action and politics in a way that is in your face with action but not so much with the politics. It has a point to make but it is quite palatable even if I don't always agree. Just done really well. In this book and the last one the characters have gotten more complex, its not just the good guys and the bad guys in this one. Characters are conflicted and more complex. It makes the book all the more interesting to have this bit of nuance. This is no classical literature but it is damned entertaining and not at all low-brow either.

Excellent--as usual

Vince Flynn is an excellent writer and this latest novel is no exception. Grabs you from the start and gives you both sides of the equation; The hero and the villans.

Story picks up from previous book

If you could sum up Pursuit of Honor in three words, what would they be?

I was very disappointed with the previous book, but this one redeemed the series. It was back to the action.
