Louie Cogburn had spent three days holed up in his apartment, staring at his computer screen. His pounding headache was unbearable - like spikes drilling into his brain. And it was getting worse. Finally, when someone knocked at his door, Louie picked up a baseball bat, opened the door, and started swinging...
The first cop on the scene fired his stunner twice and Louie died instantly. Detective Eve Dallas has taken over the investigation, but there's nothing to explain the man's sudden rage or death. The only clue is a bizarre message left on his computer screen: Absolute Purity Achieved.
And when a second man dies under nearly identical circumstances, Dallas starts racking her brain for answers and for courage to face the impossible... that this might be a computer virus able to spread from machine to man....

Always after books that read well in the tractor!
This one wasnt all about the case, but had some great moments with side characters. I loved that the boy came back, and we get to see him growing up.
the ending surprised me, but was believable and had good basis.
Another good one!
YES BECAUSE I ENJOYED IT
THE WAY THE CRIMES WAS SOILED
I LOVED THIS BOOK AND THE WAY ITWAS WRITTEN
I work and play in a library.Turned loose among the books and authors, like a kid in a candy store. It is good, way good and I am pleased.
Always a good read, or listen. Eve is a great lead and the rest are cherries on the sundae!
Rereading all the in death series.
Yes, they're that good!
Great storyline, very well thought out and performed. Excellent read
What a great author and narrator. The story made you laugh and cry. you don't know who did it till the very end. I'm so glad this is an older series. I don't have to wait for the next book to be written.
I'm not sure how these books keep getting better but they do. I am totally wrapped up in the series. The characters have become something I look forward to. The audio performance is captivating.
