Publisher's summary

Court Gentry, aka the Gray Man, is back – and once again on the run from old friends and foes.

Four years ago, Gentry was betrayed by his handlers in the CIA. Now, an old comrade, Russian arms merchant Sidorenko, returns to force him on a mission against his will: kill Sudan’s President Abboud, the supposed trigger for the Darfur genocide. But the CIA has its own plans for Abboud. With his ruthless employers on one side, his blackmailing former friends on the other, and a doomed mission ahead, Gentry would kill just to get out of this one alive.

Every bit as thrilling, informed, and addictive as The Gray Man, and once again skillfully narrated by Jay Snyder, On Target is sure to hit the mark for thriller fans.

Enjoyed the story

This book, the second in the series, was more enjoyable than the first. The story was engrossing and not over done as some of the first book was. I will be listening to the next in the series soon. If you have not listened to any of the Gray Man series, it is my opinion it is most similar to Vince Flynn books with the character Mitch Rapp

Great Story, Weird Accents

So I love the Grey Man series so far, and I think Jay Snyder does a really good job. However, there are a few examples where an “irish” accent goes scottish and then almost russian which can be a little distracting. I was also distracted by the mispronunciation of makarov, which in the performance is pronounced “Mah Karov” like two words instead of “mack-a-rov.” Granted I could be misidentifying and its a real weapon, so I could be wrong. Definitely worth the listen, and hopefully Grey Man switches to glocks so there is no confusion on pronunciation.

Well written follow up.

What did you love best about On Target?

I love that he is human, fallible, and not perfect. He screws up and pays for it. He make emotional decisions even if they are not the best tactically.

What was one of the most memorable moments of On Target?

The escape from the casa grande was great.

What does Jay Snyder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He lends a believable voice to The main character and good accents to other characters. The voices are distinct enough to make it easy to follow.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

More pure escapism.

This is what fiction should be. No huge amount of preaching. Tons of the main character barely escaping with mortal wounds. A main character who will risk all and forsake restoration for the greater good. All the while being in danger of being assasinated by every country on the planet.

Well done Mark Greaney and Jay Snyder. I look forward to the next novel. Ballistic. The preview made it sound awesome.
