Publisher's summary

Kathleen Turner has goals. She moved to Indianapolis to start seeing to them, but things aren’t going quite as well as she’d hoped. She’s a runner for a high-powered law firm in town, not the most prestigious of positions, but it and her part-time bartender gig at least pays the bills. And one of the senior partners is a dreamboat in that obscenely rich, disturbingly good looking, slightly snobbish sort of way.

It’s the middle of the night when Kathleen hears fighting coming from her neighbor Sheila’s apartment. As disturbing as that is, it’s the ominous sound of silence afterwards that keeps Kathleen from falling back to sleep. Slipping from bed with the intention of making sure everything is okay, Kathleen knocks on her friend’s door, only to find Sheila murdered, her naked body sprawled on sheets stained crimson with her blood.

Shock and horror are followed by gritty determination when it becomes clear that Sheila’s death isn’t random and it isn’t the result of a jealous boyfriend. It’s the opening gambit in a web of murder, deceit, conspiracy, and fraud that stretches to the law firm for which Kathleen works. Maybe to the very office that Blane Kirk commands.

And Kathleen Turner, law office runner, can trust no one if she wants to survive.

Entertaining and suspenseful

I enjoyed this book, good storyline, interesting characters and never a dull moment when Kathleen Turner was awake. I did find myself annoyed with the narrator at times. She wasn't bad and she didn't deter my attention from the story. But there were many times her voice would become monotone...
I wanted to pull my hair out.
Overall - I like this book and will continue with the series.

performance

The narrator's voice was high octane the whole time instead of inflections throughout. she did a great job with accents & different genders, though 👏

Narrator was awful

Where does No Turning Back rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's a good story, but the narrator's voice sounds like fingernails on blackboards. I have to consciously try to ignore it. Would love to hear these books read by a better voice.

Narrator had no animation

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

No, the narrator was monotone and had no animation in her voice, when she switched to the male character she dropped her voice so low you could not hear her.

Would you be willing to try another book from Tiffany Snow? Why or why not?

Yes but only if it had a different narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Loved this book.

The characters leave you feeling everything they feel. You really begin to root for Blane to be able to love, and for Kathleen to stick it to the proverbial bad guys.

Just ok

This book was short on the story and plot and extremely long on the prelude to sex. Ok for my 10 hour drive but not a book I would reach for again. I purchased 2 of Ms. Snow's books through Kindle daily deals. Will likely skip the 2nd book.
Performance was close to monotone; good use of voice to change characters, but the male characters were nearly inaudible.

Good story bad narration

I loved the book and was excited to see the audiobook companion. But WOW, the narrator voice is grating and jilted, and her impression of a male voice sounds like a cave man. Wonderful story carries through, but ugh, that voice.
