Publisher's Summary

The town of Stoneham is a haven for bookstores, but it is sadly lacking in bed-and-breakfasts. Fortunately Pippa and Jon Comfort's Sheer Comfort Inn is about to open, and the couple has offered some locals a free night as a trial run. But it won't be so easy to sleep after Tricia makes two startling discoveries: Pippa's murdered body in the backyard, and the fact that Pippa's husband, Jon, is actually Harry Tyler, a man Tricia loved - and believed dead - for nearly 20 years. Though Harry is the prime suspect, Tricia doesn't believe him capable of murder, even though he's led a life of lies. Especially when she discovers that Pippa had a few secrets of her own - some that may have been worth killing for.

"New narrator is wonderful, best book of the series"

I've been listening to all the books in the Booktown series in order, and I must say the narrator change up was very wise! I found the characters were MUCH more likeable in this book than any of the others. I had a hard time liking any of the main characters thus far, but this book made them all much more likeable, especially Angelica.
The story itself also was good, well developed & a nice cozy read. I really enjoy this author's work & I'm excited to finish up the last 2!

    "THIS MYSTERY IS GREAT"

The town of Stoneham is a haven for bookstores, but it is sadly lacking in bed-and-breakfasts. WHAT A GREAT LITTLE COZY BOOK. IT IS PART OF A SERIES OF A BOOKSELLER'S STORE, "HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE". FULL OF TWISTS AND TURNS THAT LEAVES YOU EVER READY TO GET BACK TO THE AUDIO. TRICIA, IS A GREAT PROTAGONIST, AND A DETECTIVE IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD....SHE BAFFLES ME, THE END OF THE BOOK OPENS WITH A NEW MYSTERY STARTING AS THE OLD ONE IS SOLVED. A WINNING WAY TO KEEP US COMING BACK TO THIS AUTHOR. WELL WORTH THE CREDIT. LORNA BARRETT IS A GREAT AUTHOR AND KAREN WHITE IS A GREAT NARRATOR. NICE WORK LADIES. WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND.

"Okay story ruined by bad narration"
Would you try another book from Lorna Barrett and/or Karen White?

I would definitely buy another book from Lorna Barrett, but I have no interest in listening to Karen White ever again. Karen routinely called one of the main characters, and in some instances even the main character, by the wrong name - I don't know if this was a problem with the text or with her narration. But it was confusing. It made it difficult to follow the plot lines or understand what was actually happening. Also her Texas accent for one of the characters was grating.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Karen White?

I liked the previous narrator, Cassandra Campbell.

    Any additional comments?

I really enjoy this series, but I feel like the story has started to flounder. Tricia has been questioning how she feels about her life but she is just lamenting about it, she's not doing anything to rectify it.

I have loved this series until this book. The narrator yelled the whole thing and made my wonderful cozy mystery very tense and annoying.
