Very entertaining

I'm so in love with Phryne and her world of easy interaction between any age, social status, character and sex. A oure joy.

Repeat Listen

Loved this book. Author included a great plot which tugged at my heartstrings...two children are adopted and go missing quickly. Phryne must uncloak a mysterious killer who is plotting to kill Gerald. Gerald is familialy and romantically in love with his sister. The duo are throwing the last best party of 1929 which is lavishly expensive and has their butler tantrumming to Phryne's Mr. Butler...action throughout this novel. Rather smugly done up to a satisfying conclusion.

Delightful Fluff

If you could sum up Murder in the Dark in three words, what would they be?

Delightful period fluff

What did you like best about this story?

This was an easy listen, with a fun plot involving richly described locations and characters you can actually like as well as enough plot twists to keep you on your toes.

Have you listened to any of Stephanie Daniel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

To much rambling, bad music, and hard to follow. Usually I love the stories. Not this time.

Murder In The Dark

enjoyed this story for the most part, Pryne Fisher is as usual a joy to listen to. The reader is always excellent.
This has not been my favourite one of the Phryne Fisher stories but most enjoyable listening.

Favorite Fisher

I think this is the strongest of the Fisher mysteries. Masterful narration once again by Stephanie Daniel. I have downloaded all of the titles available in this series and I highly recommend. Fun period mysteries that are well-paced, easy to listen to, and not too fluffy. A solid notch above typical chick-lit romances.

narrator singing 😒

No narrator singing. Just reading the words is less distracting. Enjoyed the story as usual.

love the book, not the singing

Stephanie Daniel is an amazing narrator. She is THE voice of these books. But I find that her singing detracts from her otherwise excellent performance. This book had a lot of singing, and I have to amend my usual 5-star rating to reflect that.

Wonderful

My favourite story of the honourable miss Phryne Fisher to date! As per usual, this was wonderfully-well researched and felt quite educational about many a thing circa the 1920's.
