Seattle yoga instructor Kate Davidson often acts more like a champion fighting rooster than the Dalai Lama. When she's not teaching yoga, she spends her time hiding from her creepy landlord and dodging her best friend's relentless matchmaking attempts. Even though her father was a cop, Kate has zero crime fighting aspirations. She has enough trouble keeping her struggling yoga business afloat while trying to live up to yoga's Zen-like expectations.
Then she stumbles over a body in the studio's parking lot.
The police dismiss the murder as drug-related street crime, but Kate knows that George - a homeless alcoholic she had befriended-was no drug dealer. And if the police won't take his murder seriously, she'll just have to solve the crime herself. After all, "Drunk Dies in Drug Deal Gone Bad at Yoga Studio" isn't exactly the free publicity she's been hoping for.
Kate stretches herself and takes on two new challenges. First, solve George's murder. Second, find someone-anyone-willing to adopt his intimidating, horse-sized German shepherd, Bella, before Animal Control sends her to the big dog park in the sky.
But with Bella's time almost up and the murderer hot on her trail, Kate will have to work fast. Or the next time she practices Corpse Pose, it may be for real.

If you're a dog person you'll love Bella, if you're a yoga person you'll love Kate, and if you like cozies this one is well worth reading! The amateur sleuth is a bit of a bumbler, but gets the job done. Interesting characters and plot twists make this a fun read!
Anne James is just perfect as narrator!

I'm in my 18th year teaching Spanish and English Literature and Composition. I love to travel and learn about different cultures! I❤Audible!
I loved this cozy mystery by Tracy Weber! It was great, all around! I recommend this book to lovers of dogs and cozy mysteries! I will be buying more from this author and narrator. I don't want to tell more than the story description already does because I don't want to give anything away, but you will not be let down. It was funny, engaging, and flowed nicely. The storyline was good, and the narrator brought the characters to life. The main character was easy to relate to and reminded me of myself in a number of ways....she even opened my eyes to a couple things in my own life.
Besides the main storyline (the solving of a murder of a homeless man), the author builds a variety of informative topics and themes into the plot that certain readers could benefit from in their daily lives. She does it in such an entertaining way that I didn't realize I was actually learning while listening until I found myself talking about some of them at work! These include:
I rate this book, the narrator, and the author 5/5 stars. I enjoyed it very much and I think you will feel the same! Thank you!!
I love to listen to audiobooks while spinning and knitting.
The fact that it had a dog story line.
Yes. I really didn't know who had 'done it' as the book progressed because a few different unlikable characters were presented that could have been the murderer.
Also, I was routing for Bella the entire time but was nervous for her along the way as well.
Well, Bella, was my favorite, but I did enjoy the relationships between Kate and Michael and Kate and Renee.
No, but just because of it's length. It was one though that I always looked forward to getting back to.
Maybe a series in the making?
The plot was gently paced but I would have liked the investigative parts to be a little bit more exciting and suspenseful. There were a lot of phone calls and visiting people to talk to them- all very realistic but not very dramatic.
I wasn't expecting the story to focus on the dog more than the murder mystery but I still enjoyed it. I could relate to the owner's love for his dog and wanting to do everything he could for her. Growing up, my much loved King Charles Spaniel had EPI, just like Bella, and I empathised with that entire story line.
I am interested to see what mysteries the pair solve in the future and so this is one series that I will be happy to continue reading/listening to.
I preferred to listen to this book in a few sittings.

I liked the mystery to stimulate me and the yoga sessions to calm me.
It reminded me of the Carrot Cake Mystery where you had the suspense broken up with the recipes for baking.
Kate was tenacious in trying to solve the mystery of her friend's murder and in finding a home for Bella.
You got to get a glimpse into the life of a homeless person. It made you more sensitive to noticing them more and realize that they are not invisible.

I am addicted to books. Nothing makes me happier than crawling inside a good book.
Bella the dog all through the book.
This was a fun listen, and if there are more to follow I would love to listen/review each of them. This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBoom
Yes I would recommend this audiobook to anyone looking for a good light mystery. This book is very entertaining. Great reader too!
This book has a bit of everything: A little romance, A lovely Landlady (although very ill),A sleazy Landlord, A homeless guy (but a really good guy), A best friend (but she is a pesky matchmaker), A handsome Pet Store owner, Bella (a huge black German Shepherd), A very suspicious Character (Charlie)...And, MURDER!
Wonderful performance! Loved this Reader.
I laughed, cried, got angry, and at times was beside myself. Kate really took some very wild chances. I would be thinking..."NO! NO! ARE YOU CRAZY? Don't go off on your own with Charlie...In the woods...After dark!!" Then of course at the end...I cried...Not giving any more than that away.
I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys light mysteries and great entertainment."This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBoom dot com."
I love audio books! I love to read and this opens up even more time to enjoy a good story.
I loved this book. Mystery and Yoga plus a dog what's not to love. I really enjoyed the narrator too. A win win for me.
Well narrated, perfect length with a satisfying ending. My only critiques would be the hint of a soap box concerning special needs dogs and the thrill of Yoga. Oh, and there were a few times I wanted to shake the protagonist and yell, "Don't do that!!" All in all though Murder Strikes a Pose: A Downward Dog Mystery, left me with a smile...just what it was supposed to.

Murder Strikes a Pose: A Downward Dog Mystery
: Tracy Weber
This is a cozy mystery that gives us humor, romance, a hit of suspense and even a dog, I think I may have read this before, but it wasn't on my read list. I enjoyed the story.
The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Anne James.
