Characters all come to life!

It’s always the plot and characters that capture a listener. What an adventure with this group! The series transcends time and geopolitics. I felt I was there (thanks to the perfect narration) and can’t wait to go back to another remote location with Pollifax and company.

Great adventure & a thrill

Another great Mrs. Pollifax adventure story & informative about China's land & history. I recommend taking notes so you can look up the landmarks. You might want to take notes of the characters, also.

Love Pollifax yet weird background noise

This is a great Pollifax book. She is spunky and resourceful. She thinks on her feet and is a matriarch of sorts to a tour group. Much of the way China is described is exactly the way a tourist sees China. Considering this book was written over 30 years ago it is funny so much has stayed the same.

This book is suitable for the entire family. A few maps of China may help.

About 2/3 of the way through the book I noticed a drumming sound. It is on the recording and not local to the reader. It sounds like a village drummer alerting everyone to community situation. It can be distracting to the listener with headphones. Aside from that flaw I loved listening.

This book was as good as I had hoped. It sucked me in and didn't let go. I'm ready to read the next one.

Mrs. Pollifax, Low Profile, High Octane, On Target

I love these stories of the old English gal, whom no one ever suspects of being an undercover agent for the CIA . . . much less holding a brown belt in karate . . . the way she thinks, her kindness . . . and how she inevitably makes close friends with her fellow agents . . . despite their attempts to keep that from happening . . . the trip to China to locate and extract a human asset turns out to be even more dangerous than expected . . . but nonetheless, the amazing Mrs. Pollifax and her partner, Peter are up to the job . . . this is the China of the 1980s . . . and very interesting indeed . . . the historical lessons on China are fascinating, as Mrs. Pollifax poses as the leader of the tour group . . . the descriptions of the scenes they encounter candy for the eyes . . . and as always, I am amazed at how Mrs. Polifax and her CIA partner accomplish their mission . . . GREAT LISTEN!

Love Mrs. Pollifax

I have all of Dorothy Gilman's Mrs. Pollifax books! I enjoy rereading them when I'm not ready to start a new book. And when I saw this one on sale with Audible, I had to get it and it was great! The voices and tone of the narrator matched what I always expected the characters to sound like! I have already wish listed the rest and hope to purchase soon. Highly recommended!

Hurrah for Mrs. Pollifax!

I've read this entire series at least once and now I get to listen to them. Mrs. Pollifax on the China Station is fun and once again, she meets interesting people who provide a lot of surprises along the way.

One of my favorites

I love how she develops the characters. It’s a classic Pollifax! There’s only a few flubs by Rosenblat when she reads lines with the wrong character’s voice. But she’s one of my favorite readers and the only one who really reads Mrs.Pollifax as she should be.
