It's just seven days before Memorial Day, and a spike in CIA intelligence has pointed to a major terrorist attack on the United States. Now it's up to counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp to pull out all the stops.
Rapp immediately leaves for Afghanistan, where he leads a special forces unit on a daring commando raid across the border into a remote Pakistani village. Their target: an al-Qaeda stronghold. Rapp and his team soon discover plans for a catastrophic nuclear attack on Washington, DC. Information is quickly relayed back to CIA headquarters, and a nuclear emergency support team scrambles to the scene. In a few hours, the freighters have been located and disarmed and the danger has been averted. Or has it?
Mitch Rapp can't shake the feeling that the operation seemed just a bit too easy. Rapp follows his instincts on a quest to unearth the whole truth. What he finds is truly terrifying, and with Memorial Day closing fast, Rapp must find a way to prevent a disaster of unimaginable proportions.

4.5 stars for a thoroughly enjoyable listen. It's really hard to execute a plot of this scale in a single book. The higher the stakes, the more difficult it is to pull off believably, and the threat of nuclear annihilation is about as high as it gets. Flynn goes a good job, and this is probably the best book of the series up to this point. Mitch Rapp is badder and better than ever, but unfortunately we don't get to see much at all of his wife Anna in this book. Also Mitch has continued the same "I'm tired of all the BS, I'm gonna quit after this one and settle down" monologues that he has been having for the last four books. For better or worse though, he stops worrying about that after the next book, "Consent to Kill"...
I really enjoy Flynn's books and this was no exception. The politics and cover up attempts are so realistic. It is scary but true, how the bungling bureaucrats are sabotaging our country and freedoms. I wish we had more Mitch Raps and fewer politician's. The story was well researched and was a real page turner.
71-year-old grandmother who has been an avid reader all my life. I have recently retired from being a litigation attorney (for Plaintiffs).
Taking the scene to Washington D.C., Vince Flynn again places Rapp front and center in the defense of the President and Congressmen. How Rapp unveils a terrorist conspiracy and then thwarts the efforts of the foreign terrorists will keep you on the edge of your seat. Like other Mitch Rapp novels, you will want to listen to "just a few more minutes" until you find you have completed the entire book. Difficulties between him and his significant other add twists and turns that make his job even more difficult. At least the President loves her, even though she is from the news reporter world.
In this book, Rapp is unbelievable (almost too much so) in his ability to ferret out details of a nuclear bomb about to wipe out most of DC. When he succeeds fairly early in the book, you will realize that obviously, there is more to this terrorist plot than meets the eye at first glance. When Rapp is unable to find the people he needs, once again, he simply does it himself (after promising he will stay away from the front of the action). George Guidall is great (as usual) as he makes the characters come alive during the melee. I highly recommend this book (and all of the others in the series). It is enjoyable as part of the series or as a stand-alone American Hero adventure. I am reading the entire series and find it really great.
I rated it as a 4-start only because some of the events are just a little too much of a stretch. I am happy to use my imagination, but in a few cases, this one is over the top.
Another great book by Vince Flynn just proves loyalty and honor make for a great story line. Once again puts his country ahead of his personal comfort and safety. He also doesn't allow the pettiness of the people that surround him to move him off his task.
AMERICA...Military History, History, Action and the love of good believable thrillers.
A great book in the Mitch Rapp series. Great hunt to the final outcome of the story. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
I didn't read the print version, but liked the narrator.
All the other Vince Flynn books and Tom Clancy books
He is one of the best with timely pauses and inflections.
I am listening to the entire Mitch Rapp series.

I gave it five stars. Well put together and Rapp does it again!
Yes, just wondering how Rapp would be able to save the day.
I look for all the George Guidall narration for Mitch Rapp series. He delivers the right tone for Rapp. Rapp is a serious man, no non sense, hard hitter, George does it right!
MITCH RAPP,, A MAN ON A MISSION, JUSTIS, REVENGE, VENGEANCE.
Keep them coming, I can't get enough Mitch Rapp! And please have George Guidall do the narration :)
Vince Flynn does it again with another incredible Mitch Rapp book. I am amazed at how he is able to weave political hot-topics into the story while still making it extremely entertaining and riveting. George Guidall is A+ and you will not be disappointed with this book.

"Well paced book l. Rapp at his best."
Fast moving drama. Worryingly believable, a bit of choice language but used in context did not spoil the book. If you are a Rapp fan then you will not be disappointed
Really good listen.. built the story well and climaxed with the right amount of intensity.
"An outstanding novel that is relevant to today."
I found this story to be one that everyone should read and realise what our world is like. The book will keep you captivated. A great read
