Publisher's summary

Twelve miles above the Pacific Ocean, a missile strikes a jumbo passenger jet and leaves the flight crew either crippled or dead. This is the story of how three survivors must achieve the impossible and land the plane. Master storyteller Nelson DeMille and veteran pilot Thomas Block collaborated on Mayday, the most terrifyingly realistic air disaster thriller of all time.

S. O. S. we’ve got a mayday

What a book.
This is my first atmospheric drama.
The insight of this book is amazing.
The idea of altitude caused brain damage turning people into almost zombies blew me away.
Allot of tragedy, turmoil, drama, and back stabbing.
Amazing
Nelson Demille and Thomas Block are my Long Island hero’s.

Riveting

Rarely do I have the opportunity to read a novel that keeps me engrossed throughout every single chapter. Mayday is such a book.
I highly recommend it.

Intense in the extreme

There's not much I can add to what other reviewers have said other than this is probably the most intense book of fiction I've ever read/listened to. But unlike most others I had the opposite problem of not being able to listen for more than 45 minutes or so at a time; I needed a stress relief break.

There's an amusing warning at the beginning saying do not listen if you are on a plane flight. I think you safely can, but only in short spurts of course.

Great listen from page 1!

Great listen, excellent character development and clearly researched before written. Another stellar performance by Brick! Highly recommended though maybe not the book for you if you have a fear of flying!

MayDay

It must be noted that this revised version of the original is a master piece, a cliff hanger, and deserves a high place amongst stories and story tellers. The audible presentation brought characters alive and sub plots standing on the own merit as well as supporting the overall plot. As a pilot I simply couldn't stop listening. Applause to DeMille and Block for a really fine piece of work.

Not very believable

I was very disappointed in the office politics taking up so much time. Could not recommend this one.
