Publisher's summary

It's almost Labor Day, and the end of summer could mean the end of someone's life in this exciting sequel to Chris Grabenstein's Tilt-a-Whirl.

Young Danny Boyle, the part-time summer cop "down the shore" in Sea Haven, New Jersey, gets taken on a wild ride when he and his longtime beach buddies become the unwitting targets of a madman's twisted scheme for revenge. Fortunately, John Ceepak, the cop with a soldier's unshakable code of honor, stays at Danny's side to help him negotiate the quick twists and turns that threaten to destroy his life, his friends, and everything about the world he loves.

Whipping from the boardwalk to the beach and back again, Mad Mouse keeps zigging and zagging at a breakneck pace, all the way to the surprising finish.

Don't miss other adventures featuring Sea Haven's finest, including the first book in the series, Tilt-a-Whirl, and the third, Whack-a-Mole.

Another Great Mystery

This is the 2nd book in the series and it was a great listen refreshing and interesting. The performance was top notch as well. Enjoyed it from start to finish.

This book will crack you up!

Mad Mouse has just the right blending of humor, pathos, and suspense. The author paints vivid images of the characters and the spaces they inhabit - you just feel like you are there on the over-commercialized New Jersey beach, smelling the smells and noticing the odd things that pop up in that culture. One minute you are laughing at something outrageous or familiar, the next moment your are hearing bullets whiz by. Be sure to start with the first book in this series, Tilt-a-Whirl, because the sequencing enhances your appreciation of the characters.

The narrators voice for Cepak sounds like a robot.

If you could sum up Mad Mouse in three words, what would they be?

I Shoulda Readit

What other book might you compare Mad Mouse to and why?

All the authors books are very similar

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Jeff Woodman?

Anyone, although if he would develop a different voice and tone for Cepak he wouldn't be so bad. Cepak sounds robotic and Danny sounds like a woosh.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No reaction.

A+ for likeability

seems like a silly book at first, but the characters are so likeable and real. even Ceepak is getting more real. and the story is really serious and unfolds well. I think it is the casual writing style and the age of the narrator that makes it seem less serious.

Even better than book 1 - Fun

Things get a little darker but the fun of seeing NJ seacoast thru narrator's eyes remains. Great in car listen, easy to follow and lots of smiles.

Very Enjoyable!!

This is a very light hearted and reasoning situations. Lots of '4 letter' words I didn't want to hear, but I think it was okay.

With work, good prevails

(As posted in Goodreads)
love me some Ceepak. I had read the entire series years ago, but I needed to dip my toes again. The author supports the need to maintain positively and cheerfulness to maintain the fictional town with the poor and evil of circumstances and, to be honest, children in general of reality to build a suspenseful and engrossing story. Well done.

Seapack is back

Danny, a fledgling police officer, and Seapack, a former MP and now a veteran detective, are on a mission to stop a sniper in their sleepy little town of Sea Haven. The sniper is smart, invisible and, for some unknown reason, targeting Danny's group of lifelong friends. Not one of his friends, in this tight knit group, can think of any possible reason that could have invoked this brutal unsolicited attack. Sea Haven is a cool, little costal town that relies on it's summer guests to see them through the colder seasons, so in order to keep the situation quiet Seapack and Danny do thier best to keep the investigation under wraps. However, in a small, gossipy town that is not always an easy thing to do.

A fast pace, good mystery with the return of all of the series regular characters. Jeff Woodman does an outstanding job narrating as usual, so if your looking for a clean, relaxing series this is a fun new fangled kind of cozy.

Awesome Series!

This series is the perfect combination of murder mystery and humor. I have listen to books 1 and 2 and they make you smile, laugh and think. There's enough of a murder mystery to keep you intrigued, and enough humor and goodness to make you happy. There's no dark underlying evil feelings in these books, they are beautifully written and make your heart feel good. I will continue on with the whole series, and thank the author immensely for providing such wholesome entertainment.

GI Joe probably plays with a Ceepak action figure.

So says John Ceepak's novice partner. They are two cops in a small beach town on the Jersey shore. Ceepak is an ex-military by-the-book tough guy with a tender heart. The story is a good mystery, full of fun, but not devoid of evil and horror. Otherwise, how could there be a happy ending?
