Publisher's summary

Michael Robotham's Suspect, hailed as "a lightning-paced debut" by Entertainment Weekly, was an international best seller that raised the bar for thrillers. Now two characters from that acclaimed novel, Detective Vincent Ruiz and psychologist Joe O'Loughlin, return for the electrifying Lost. When Detective Ruiz is pulled from the Thames, he has a bullet in his leg, a photograph of a missing (and presumed dead) girl in his pocket, and absolutely no memory of what happened.

Do not recommend

Good ending but Extremely slow read. Struggled to keep my interest until the last 6 chapters. Would not recommend. Sorry.

Exactly what I needed

Kept me engaged and entertained for the whole weekend. Wonderful narration - easily followed each character's voice. Ready for more of the author and narrator.

EXCELLENT

I have been an Audible subscriber for several years and I stumbled on this title after navigating around authors who I enjoy like James Lee Burke, Robert Ludlum (Paris Option; Hades Factor; Janson Directive; Sigma Protocol), Ian Fleming (From Russia With Love), Scott Turow (Ordinary Heros), and this ranks at the top. The plot is intriguing, characters are colorful, and narration is fantastic. This is a very stylish departure from the standard modern detective / mystery, and a fine specimen of raw storytelling.

Great dectective mystery, great narration

If books like "The Da Vinci Code" and the like have you groaning because of over-the-top coincidences, near-misses, and impossible get-a-ways, then try listening to this realistic, but exciting, mystery of a missing child, lost memories, diamond ransoms, sewer explorations, and snipers. The narration was very well done, believable and sympathetic.

intelligent read

I really enjoyed the way the author led me through the book, but the reader is what made the book come alive. His accents were fantastic, and made me really pay attention. I can't wait to hear more from both the author and the reader.

Well written and well read

Some have complained about the apparent digressions. However, these are eventually all tied together in terms of the motivation of the characters and the plot

The Best

I've read pretty much all of Robotham, and this is by far my favorite. The shift of central character, and his voice, works really, really well. And the back story for him is both completely believable and original. All of which gives this real heft as a just, plain, good crime novel. Add in a strong plot and really good narration - and, it's a winner.

Gripping

Lost is a very enjoyable book, listened to while driving in New Zealand in holiday.

There are so many twists and turns in the story and real insights into Detective Inspector Ruis and his motivations.

The reader was not as good as Sean Barrett reading Robottom but good enough not to distract.
