Publisher's summary

Michael Robotham's Suspect, hailed as "a lightning-paced debut" by Entertainment Weekly, was an international best seller that raised the bar for thrillers. Now two characters from that acclaimed novel, Detective Vincent Ruiz and psychologist Joe O'Loughlin, return for the electrifying Lost. When Detective Ruiz is pulled from the Thames, he has a bullet in his leg, a photograph of a missing (and presumed dead) girl in his pocket, and absolutely no memory of what happened.

Just ok

This wasy first read by this author. It was good but there was not anything that grabbed your attention. It was slow and not enough development of the characters especially for a book of this length.

Just an Amazingly Enjoyable Series

I wish I could give these first two books in the series 10 stars. I am a fan of Steig Larson, Jo Nesbo, Henning Mankell, and Vince Flynn, whom I deem to be the very tops in mystery thrillers. If you are fans of these authors, I am sure you will be capivated by this series. I am now on the third book with great anticipation.

Good book Horrible Reading

Frequently I wondered if the reader fell asleep while recording. Couldn’t wait to finish but the ending was droll and I love this author. The reader again made it painful.

Pleasant Surprise

I downloaded this one because it had some good reviews and was on sale.

This was definitely a nice surprise. The story is very good and the author brings things together very well.

I can't imagine anyone panning this book. Anyone giving this one a bad review must not have been paying attention and got "Lost" (heehee). At times, the story is a bit hard to follow due to the flashbacks.

The narrator does a good job; however, fails to change tone or transition between flashbacks causing the "hard to follow" moments.

HIGHLY recommended! I teetered between 4 and 5 stars and decided to round up.

well done

A well done detective novel. Certain tried and true "rogue cop" aspects are present, but over all fresh. Interesting characters and well narrated. It is better than anything I have recently listened to or read by James Patterson. I would reccomend it.

Exellent narration and story

An intriguing if somewhat overly involved plot. Narration is excellent, properly weighted and good voice acting. Overly long with too many plot reverses but highly reccomend.

Slow and Plodding

I have listened to all the other books in this series and have loved them. This book was a stand-out, but not in a good way. It was by far the slowest and most tedious of all. I think it was a combination of the story’s developing at a glacial pace and the narrator’s slow read. He has a tendency to pause overly long in between each piece of dialogue, a practice that drug out the length of the story and constantly reminded me that I was listening to a book, something the other books magically conquered. I enjoyed how all the other books I. The series have been paced carefully but comfortably, unfolding with just the right amount of detail and suspense. Somehow Lost just didn’t follow the same course. I couldn’t wait for it to be over.

Great story with distracting narrator

If I hadn't already listens to two other books by this author I would have returned it. The story was great but the narrator has a distracting cadence - sometimes too fast and sometimes too slow.

Good listen!

I have enjoyed all of Mr. Robotheam's books. They are well written and have good narrator's. I recommend.

Scattered

Would you try another book from Michael Robotham and/or Ray Lonnen?

No

Would you recommend Lost to your friends? Why or why not?

No, it was a very scattered story, all over the place. I had problems following the readers accent. Just not impressed.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The Narrator did fine, I just personally had problems following because I found the accent to be distracting at times.

Could you see Lost being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No
