Wonderful writer, exceptional reader

Craig Johnson is a gifted novelist. With his talent, research, knowledge of many topics, sense of humor and gift for narrative, it’s no wonder he has so many successful books in this Longmire series. And the reader/performer, George Guidall, is a master. I have to say I have become hooked on these audiobooks. A great thing to look forward to in the quiet evening hours. Bravo.

It's just one of those

It's just one of those stories that no matter what else you have in your audio book library that gets pushed to the front. I am a big fan of the series as it never disappoints. I will definitely keep moving forward with the series and can not wait until the show comes back around.

Always love Longmire!

Great story and reader! Most interesting is the Native American folklore and local color of Wyoming. Ready for the next one!

Walt visits the city

Would you listen to Kindness Goes Unpunished again? Why?

Yes! Love the main characters. Very easy listen.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Loved the devotion of the father to the daughter and her well being. She comes before all else.

Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favorite?

Henry is my favorite but Walt is almost neck and neck.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The west comes to Philadelphia.

Longmire goes to Philadelphia

I would rate this 3.5 stars if I could, and round up to 4. It’s a good, solid, engaging mystery but didn’t grab me as strongly as some in this genre. In this story, Walt and his best friend Standing Bear head to Philadelphia where Bear has an art exhibit and Walt has his daughter. But when they arrive, Walt’s daughter, Katy, is seriously injured after an assault. Philadelphia is also where Vic Moretti’s cop family lives and Walt is assisted by Vic’s family in unraveling the mystery. I like the continued character development of Walt, Bear and Vic. The plot kept a good pace, but author Craig Johnson tends to have a somewhat languid writing style. All in all an enjoyable book.
