Difficult and painful
With the media awareness of #metoo, and similar themes of sexual harassment and abuse, I found this a difficult book to finish. Roarke always takes what he wants, and Eve is generally a willing partner in their sexual encounters, but there is a scene in this that is not only rough sex, but crosses my personal line into marital rape. The main plot became overshadowed by this, and my reaction to the story is colored darkly by ir.

ROURKE, love his IRISH accent and mysteriousness about him
What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?
Susan Ericksen does a great job with all her characters, she started this book off a little slow but it picked up as the book moved on. Many readers commented about the Peabody character and I had braced myself it wouldn't sound like Peabody, but I thought she still held true to her character.

Great To Have More of Roark In this book.
JD Robb and Susan Ericksen are a fabulous team.
I loved this book with it's bigger storyline for Roark. All of the additional voices were excellent as well.
As always, I can't wait for the first words of the next one.

Emotions again pull Eve in all directions
Great story line with relationship stress. Different to hear Roarks possessiveness come out and their egos go to battle. I love the way they work through problems no matter what comes their way. And the interdepartmental stress has Eve showing her colors throughout the story.
