In a spellbinding new Argeneau novel from New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands, a dangerous rescue is just the beginning of red-hot adventure.
Ever since Domitian Argenis recognized Sarita as his life mate, he's been waiting for the perfect moment to claim her. Those fantasies did not include him being chained to a table in a secret lab or both of them being held hostage by a mad scientist. Somehow, they have to escape.
Sarita has seen some crazy things as a cop, but nothing to rival Domitian. A vampire? Seriously? But his healing ability, his incredible powers, and their mind-blowing physical connection - none of it should be possible, yet her body knows differently. Now, not only do they have to save each other, but other innocent lives are at stake. Failure is not an option, for Sarita intends that Domitian show her exactly what an eternity of pleasure feels like.

My wife and I have enjoyed this series from the beginning, first in paperbacks and then in audio books, and to date own the entire collection in audio book format. And to date, most of the narrators of this series have been good to excellent, until today. Our entire listening experience was ruined before we got to the end of the first chapter. This narrator is by far the worst I have ever heard. In what universe did the recording agency ever believe that this narrator did justice to the characters in this book. I would hope that the recording agency would give serious consideration to re-recording this book, utilizing any of the previous narrators in this series other than Julian Durant.
The narrator has the worst accent and pronunciation off Spanish I just stopped the audio several times I'm a fan of this series for years but oh the accent was just too bad
I can now do my work and listen too. Hearing a professional reader is the best--great way to pass time.
Lynsay--I speak to you as a friend and most certainly a fan. I've own and have listened to all of the Argeneau series (audible): Your best narrators were Victoria McGree, Bebe Kaye, and Lisa Larsen. Not Juian Durant! It's like listening to a Saturday Night Live old time radio jokester. Why would you do this to us??????????
As for the story--it is a good extension of the story line.
I know your story has taken you in the direction you are in--but it seems we aren't solving this pathway. We should have had one novel to contain the last 2 to 3 books. We need a new direction and better narrator.
We all have are ups and downs. The story I will say is holding a steady course to the last 2 books. The narrator is a big bomb. Sorry that the truth hurts--but at least you know not to use Juian Durant again.
Love Lynsay Sands Argeneau books but this was terrible!! Because of Julian Durant's performance.
Love Argeneau books by Lynsay Sands, have all of them and but can't stand this reading.
Spanish is awful. Did not like this performance.
Please re-do this book with a better narrator. Difficult to listen too!
I have loved every book in this series but disappointed by this book. Overall, very boring. Found myself easily distracted and unable to focus on the dull story. Usually you can't drag me away from these books but this one was very disappointing.
The female was over the top with her wanting to know it all and wanting to do it all. I know women rights , I am female, but she need to sometime let a man be a man and be still. She got into all that trouble for no reason. I love Lynsay books, but this took the cake. I hated this book and hope she does not write another like this ever.
The story line I hated it to. I Have never been disappointed in her books before. I own almost all of her books. This make me think she did not write this book at all. This book does not deserve any star, but it is a Lynsay Sand book I gave it one.
Love Lynsay Sands books and this series. But this narrator was so bad I could not finish the book... he sounded like a William Shatner impersonator or something. He was NOT good. Took away from an enjoyable book to the point I couldn't listen.
The least - narrator.
They story was on par with others in the series but I could not finish listening to it. i had to finish it in print.
The style used for the reading reminded me of the over acting of old radio shows and the accents were ... distracting.
I am sure there are some that loved it... but it was not mu cup of tea and I won't be trying to listen to another with this reader.
Another great Argeneau book! Great story, but the narrator annoyed me some. I wish there was more consistency with the narrators... but not a deal breaker, may just have to actually read upcoming books if the narrator annoys me again
I preordered on this title from Audible as soon as I saw it in December---so I didn't hear it until it was actually released. I didn't realize on a preorder your return time starts when you purchase--- I would have returned it before the first chapter ended---now its too late. I can not listen to this guy. I'm like everyone else--WHY---Anyway I love Lynsay Sands Argeneau books & I will read this one in print, but I will never preorder again! So disappointed! Please note---my overall 2 star rating is because I spent money on this audible book & will have to buy again in paper---sorry, but I feel that strongly about this.
Everything---I could not stand to listen to him!
Please never have this performer on these books again---not sure about any others. Believe me, I will look for him on any others I get & make sure I can listen to them before I buy.
"Great story, strange accents from the narrator"
Lynsay Sands has outdone herself with this book. It was a bit slow to start. I've listened to every one of the Argeneau novels and this was probably the most ingenious. Her original premise is great and this bookmahows her fantastic imagination. The island of hybrids, the Mengele-style doctor and the prisonsrs made for an excellent book.
The narration let thos book down though. Isarita's accent half the time sounded Irish. Quinn the Scottish guy sounded like a dodgy Dick Van Dyke cockney and I've no idea what was going on with Victor and Lucien who in all the other books are canadian and English sounding respectively.
