LOL - the perfect description when listening

What about Peggity Price???s performance did you like?

Ms. Price's reading is wonderful and she does a great job of using the same voice across all of the books in this series.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My fellow commuters, neighbors, and anyone else who have seen me in the car while listening now think I'm crazy. I laughed out loud repeatedly. The sheer unexpectedness of the dialogue and the detailed description of the scene added to the hilarity.

Any additional comments?

I keep haunting Audible to see if the last two books have been posted. PLEASE work on making that happen!

A GREAT STORYLINE!

What made the experience of listening to I Gave You My Heart, But You Sold It Online the most enjoyable?

THE LOVE STORY, MIXED WITH JUST ENOUGH COZY MYSTERY. I LAUGHED SO MUCH AND SO DID MY HUSBAND AS WE LISTENED TO IT IN BED AS WE TRIED TO FALL OFF TO SLEEP(AN ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TASK, IF YOU ARE LAUGHING). THIS WAS MY FIRST LISTEN, I SHOULD SAY, OF A DIXIE CASH BOOK AND I WAS SO HAPPY TO HAVE FOUND A GREAT WRITER WITH CHARACTERS I REALLY LIKED. LIKE ANN B. ROSS, I THINK DIXIE MAY BECOME MY NEW BEST FRIEND.

Who was your favorite character and why?

THE GIRLS FROM THE BEAUTY SHOP AND THEIR AGENCY, IT IS WHAT MAKES THE BOOK A GOOD LAUGH. THESE TWO WOMEN CAN GET INTO MORE TROUBLE THAN COCK-ROBIN. I LOVE COZY MYSTERIES WITH HUMOR, IT JUST MAKES LISTENING A PLEASURE. EASY LISTENING, NOW THAT IS MY CUP OF TEA.

What does Peggity Price bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

BREATH AND A HEARTBEAT, TO THE MANY CHARACTERS SHE HAS TO COVER. SHE DID AN ABSOLUTELY MARVELOUS JOB. A REAL PROFESSIONAL, WITH A GREAT RANGE OF VOICES, SHE NEVER MISSED A BEAT. I THINK THAT IS WHY WE LAUGHED SO MUCH, SHE REALLY PULLED THE COMEDY OUT OF THE WRITTEN DIALOGUE, WITH JUST THE RIGHT TWIST. A FEAT NOT ALL EXPRESSIONIST CAN DO, AND DO WELL. 5 STARS MS. PRICE,YOU REALLY MADE THE BOOK A GREAT LISTEN. I WILL FOLLOW YOU AS YOU DO OTHER READINGS, YOU ARE GOOD.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

A HUMOROUS MYSTERY THAT MIXES, LIKE A TOMATO-BEER AND A STETSON.

Any additional comments?

AUDIBLE NEEDS TO EXPAND THEIR COZY GENRE AS LITTLE OLDER WOMEN ARE GOING TO BE YOUR BIGGEST AUDIENCE IN THE FUTURE. I HAVE THE DIME AND THE TIME AND I WANT MORE! I HAVE ONE COMPLAINT, I NOTICE SOME OF THE BOOKS RUNNING TIME ARE 4 HOURS AND SOME MINUTES, I AM NOT SPENDING A CREDIT ON THAT EVEN IF IT IS A POWER HOUSE AUTHOR. IT IS NOT ENOUGH BANG FOR THE BUCK! THIS ECONOMY DICTATES YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE BOOKS WORTH THE CREDIT, EVERYTHING HAS TO BE WORTH IT. AUDIBLE, IS MY TREAT TO MYSELF, AS LONG AS IT IS COST EFFECTIVE.

They did it again!

Would you listen to I Gave You My Heart, But You Sold It Online again? Why?

I would listen to "I Gave You My Heart, But You Sold It Online" again, perhaps several agains. The story and the reader are both great. I don't think the story would be as fun to read as it is to hear. The combination of story and accents is excellent.

Who was your favorite character and why?

As always, I can choose between the two main characters. Debbie Sue and Edwina are my favourite two characters of this story. Regardless of who is added to the mix, they win hands down.

Which character – as performed by Peggity Price – was your favorite?

Debbie Sue and Edwina, as performed by Peggity Price, are my favourites in the audible version of the book; she just makes them seem like such fun. There are times when you just have to smile and them laugh out loud. I think it would be great to actually know people like Debbie Sue and Edwina, though they would be quite a challenge.

Any additional comments?

This whole series is just plain fun. I can't wait until the last two stories are available in audio.

Just okay

I wasn't especially impressed with this book. It was ok and had some amusing parts, but overall it was JUST ok.

Wanted a mystery - got a romance

I like to listen to light mysteries. This one was more romance than mystery. I hope this is not a trend from Dixie Cash. I have already purchased the next one in the series, and do hope it is more mystery than romance.

Ugh boy - no recommendation here

I couldn't finish it. Too silly and predictable. In addition the southern accents were hokie and the narrator made the supposedly 'hot cowboys' sound like Dale Dribble from "King of the Hill". Only second audible book out of many I wasn't able to finish.

nope

just could not get into this one. Not sure about the story, didn't get far. Narration stopped it for me, it could be much better. Couldn't tell the characters apart, there was no change in tone or voice. The men, the women and the child all sounded the same.
