Publisher's summary

A woman is found murdered in the woods with a very special watch on her wrist, and what seemed a simple case soon escalates into a nightmare. The criminal methods of some of the most infamous killers of all time are being replicated by a new predator who stalks and strikes victims with a cunning brilliance. No one can understand the murderer's motives or who the next victim will be.

Drawn into this violent affair are two Secret Service agents turned private investigators, Sean King and Michelle Maxwell. Both have been hired to prove a man's innocence in a domestic burglary involving an aristocratic, if dysfunctional, family. Soon, stunning secrets will lead the partners into the middle of a frantic search for a killer unlike any they've confronted before.

As the Hour Game barrels forward, Sean and Michelle face a macabre puzzle and uncover one horrifying revelation after another. Nearing the truth, they will find that their own lives are in danger. And then they're hit with the biggest surprise of all. When you play the Hour Game, you have to play to win. But time is running out...for all of them.

In Hour Game, best-selling master storyteller David Baldacci has created his most mind-blowing and satisfying thriller yet.

not his best . . but good

I read everything by Baldacci and am usually very pleased. This book was good. The story was not as believable as most of his books were and Sean and Michelle figured things out a bit too easily. This book was okay and I'm glad I bought it but I hope to see better Baldacci in the future. I just finished Christmas Train and it too was a little light. I would recommend reading the book. It's not worth using a download on.

Another incredible Baldacci novel

This is my third Dave Baldacci novel and he didn't disappoint me in this one either. In his suspenseful style he takes you on a roller coaster ride with one hair pin twist after another. Michelle and Sean were after a mad killer who always seemed one step ahead of them, but in the end they get their man. Highly recommeded if you like suspense novels.

Excellent crime thriller

This is the second book in the King and Maxwell series. It was a fast moving story that kept me turning the pages. I did get a bit confused with there being so many characters and so many plot threads. I also thought that Baldacci could have easily cut out 100 pages from this story with no problem. Overall, I liked it and am looking forward to the next book in the series. My rating: 4 Stars.

Likes- narrator, the pace, the action.
Dislikes- there’s a lot of characters but that’s not a real dislike but could be to others. Wonderful story.

Starting to really like these characters

This is the second story in the King and Maxwell series. Although the story seemed a bit far-fetched, it is well written and keeps the listener's interest. I am hoping the next book in the series dives into the characters back stories a bit more. I find myself wanting to know more about King and Maxwell. The narration is better on this listen than with the first story. Not as many noticeable edits. At times the voices inflections blend together and I found myself relying on context to tell which character was speaking. Overall, a great listen!
