Walt Just Gets Better With Time

I love the easy pace of the story telling, waiting impatiently for the mystery to unfold. Mr Johnsons writing is smart without gimmick. The Indian spirits give depth to the story. I am truly enjoying the Longmire Mysteries.

Could be the best yet in the Longmire series...

I have become entranced with Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire series. I have loved everyone of them, but so far, this one might be my favorite. The story pulls you in, and keeps you hanging on! I feel as if I really know the characters in these books, Mr. Johnson is indeed, a very gifted author.

The Best So Far

I'd read a couple of random Longmire stories, but after falling in love with the stunning TV series, decided to go back and listen to them, in order. I quickly became enrapt with the version of Walt Longmire incarnated by George Guidall. Craig Johnson's lyrical prose really can't be topped, for style, content, humor and warmth, but this particular book reaches new heights. I replayed chapters just to listen to the music of the words, and capture the pounding heart of the story. Yeah, I laughed. I cried. I shook a little bit. I'm grateful to Johnson and Guidall for bringing these fascinating characters to life, and beyond.

Like past books in series better

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because I like the whole family of characters and the location of the series.

Would you be willing to try another book from Craig Johnson? Why or why not?

Have read all Walt Longmire series.

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He fills in the blanks of character description and adds personality to the characters. He also helps maintain the proper tone/emphasis to the conversations and remarks.

Any additional comments?

I missed many of my favorite characters from past books. This one was a bit too ethereal for me.

Excellent story

I enjoyed the plot and character twists. The plot is pretty simple and you can guess the outcome but the journey was worth the time spent.

The Best of All the Longmires

Craig Johnson's version of Dante in the underworld here. And a fine job he does of it too. Great Walt mystery, read perfectly by George Guidall as usual. Our Wyoming winter and mountains feature prominently as characters. Great ride.

Mr. Johnson, please write faster!!!

I waited and waited for this book to hit Audible.com and then absolutely devoured it. About mid way through I was already mourning the fact that George/Walt (I think they're one person) and I were soon to part company again. I've decided to go back to the first book and start over. Walt is an amazing character but I really missed Vic and the Cheyenne Nation in this one :) Great series!!!!
