Finding a kidnapped child is not Stephanie's thing. But Evelyn's grandmother lives next door to Stephanie's parents, and they're not about to see their neighbor lose her house because of the abduction.
Stephanie follows Annie and Evelyn's trail - and finds a lot more than she bargained for. Steven is somehow linked with the very scary Eddie Abruzzi. Trenton cop and on-again, off-again fiancé Joe Morelli, and Stephanie's mentor, Ranger, enter the scene, and because Stephanie needs Ranger's expertise, she accepts his help - even though it might mean paying some past debts.
Stephanie, Ranger, Lula, and Evelyn's lawyer/laundromat manager set out to find Annie. The search becomes a race among Stephanie's posse, the True Blue Bonds' agent, and the Abruzzi crew. And did we mention there's a killer rabbit on the loose?
This program is produced for mature audiences.

"The things Evanovich does so well - family angst, sweet eroticism, stealth shopping, that stunning mix of terror and hilarity - are done better than ever here." (Booklist, Starred Review)
"Evanovich does it again, delivering an even more suspenseful and more outrageous turn with the unstoppable Stephanie." (Publishers Weekly)
Highly entertaining......Action packed, hilarious adventures of Stephanie Plum the incredibly inept bounty hunter. During this tale you will feel at home with the characters and their family life. I actually laughed out loud. ENJOY
This is the first time I have read this author and have fallen in love with the Stephanie Plum series. I downloaded all 13 books and listened to them all within a week. I couldn’t wait to hear what adventures (and mishaps!) that Stephanie, Joe, Ranger, Lula and the rest of the gang would get into. I’ve read some of the previous reviews. I agree with some and disagree with others. I disagree that it gets old and complacent that Stephanie finds herself in the same situations in every book. It appears to me that Stephanie’s character is just one of those people that trouble and mayhem seem to find. I do agree that narrator Lori Petty is the voice of Stephanie. Narrator Debi Mazar’s accent is a bit heavy for audio books and then after all this Lorilei King takes over as narrator for the rest of the series. While Ms. King’s character voices are awesome (she has such a range!) her Stephanie voice has no Jersey accent at all and sound just a little too “blue blood”. Otherwise Ms. King is a joy to listen to. You will fall in love with Ranger and Joe! Both are too hot to handle……no wonder Stephanie can’t choose between the two!
Don’t let the narrator changes deter you from listening to this funny charming, and at times mysterious series. You won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for something light hearted to listen to.
It was my first Stephanie Plum book, and while it is far from the best audio book I have gotten, it certainly was amusing. I loved her character and especially Ranger. I will definitely check out more of her books, but would like to start with the first. I think you need to get to know Stephanie from the beginning.
This was the first Stephanie Plum novel I've "read." I didn't know what to expect but found myself entertained. The book was a little goofy, but I don't think it's meant to be very serious. Overall, it has decent entertainment value and is worth the listen. The narrator does a great job with her sexy sassy voice and inflection. I may have to try another Evanovich title.
This was a great way to kill 7 hours of commute time. Stephanie Plum with her family and cast of characters were delightful. The story was fast paced and had just enough sexual tension to keep it interesting. Her mishaps were both familiar and laugh-out-loud funny. And Gramma Mazur steals the show every time.
I love this series by Evanovich. The stories are funny, but also provide a mystery. I have moments of anxiety, wondering how Stephanie is going to get out of her latest bind. It also has moments of laugh-out-loud humor. This particular book has some very funny moments. The lead character has two swoon-worthy men in her life, which adds an element of relationship/love to the stories as well. I would recommend listening to the whole series in order, but it is not necessary. They are very entertaining and light hearted.
As someone who just finished "Dreamcatcher", this book was a breath of fresh air. Although few can match Stephen King's character development, this book made me smile and often laugh! Something we all do less and less these days.
This is my first Stephanie Plum book and I thought it was a "hoot." Not great literature, but a fun way to pass the time on the way home. I am looking forward to her new book to be released in July.
I found myself laughing at some of the most unususal places. The action would be at a peak and the suspense just killing me and the characters would say or do something that made me burst out in laughter. I loved it.
This book has an interesting plot, with lots of twists and turns.
The shifting relationship between Stephanie and Ranger, and the addition of Stephanie's sister Valerie to the quirky family mix.
Not in this series. C.J. Critt's comedic timing gave the characters in the Stephanie Plum novels "bounce" and made them LOL fun to listen to, and I miss that with Ms. King's performances (particularly for Grandma Mazur and Ranger, both of whom I thought were a hoot in the C.J. Critt narrated books).
