Publisher's summary

New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris pens darkly inventive paranormal tales, including the immensely popular Sookie Stackhouse novels.

With Grave Secret, Harris returns to her beloved Harper Connelly series to deliver a thrilling mystery.

Ever since Harper was struck by lightning, she’s been able to see and hear the last memories of the dead. Going on the road with her stepbrother Tolliver, she uses this unwanted gift to solve crimes and bring clients closure. Now, besides handling a budding romance with Tolliver, Harper is on the trail of a particularly gruesome killer in rural Texas, and she must act quickly before more lives are lost.

A tale of dark desires and even darker intentions, Harris’ fourth book in the series shows why she’s become a household name in fiction.

long time mystery and conniving revealed

Harper and Tolliver take a job for a wealthy rancher on their way to visit their sisters in TX. They’re alarmed to find out Matt Lang has been trying to visit the girls, because he always has an angle. Tolliver is shot, Harper is threatened, and Manfred comes into his gifts when he comes to help.
And they finally find out what happened to their sister Cameron.
I’ve said it before - this is still my favorite Harris series. I would love any additional stories or novellas she feels like putting out there.
Bresnahan does a decent job of narration.

Closure-I hope not

I liked this series, hope Mrs.Harris is inclined to adding to it. Wouldn’t mind a Manfred spin-off. Or a cross over

Such a good series

I wish there were more as these were so good. Ms. Harris never disappoints. Now I’m going to reread the Sookie Stackhouse series.

Good & Depressing

This series is difficult to like because the main character's childhood was tragic and it is the center of this fourth book. The first three books provide background but this story solves one tragic mystery of her childhood. I still have to say that I enjoy this series because the main character is so interesting and different. I look forward to the next story and seeing what will happen to her now that her tragic past is set to rest.

Wrapping Things Up

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes - this was a good mystery, a fun listen, and I was able to revisit two characters who I really like.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Harper - the female lead and narrator of the story - was my favorite. She's interesting, has super-natural powers, and is actually rather complex for a simple tale.

Which scene was your favorite?

When they find out the mystery of Harper's sister's disappearance (a mystery that has plagued Harper through the first three books).

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not extreme. This book was good, I recommend it. It had funny parts. It was a fun listen.

Any additional comments?

If you liked the first three books, give this one a go - it solves a lingering mystery.

The End!!!!!

Any additional comments?

Based on the last paragraph of this book, the Harper Connelly series is complete. I wish there were more coming. I'll miss her.

A Charlaine Harris book is never less than great

And this is no exception. Harris writes characters that have such depth and personality that they're people I wish I knew in real life.

Great!!!

I Love this series!!! Grave Secret, the latest in the series, is wondeful! I recommend listening to the other books in the Harper Connolly series first, but it is not necessary if you really want to start with this one. After listening to this book, you will want to listen to the other books anyway.
