Publisher's summary

#1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor brings readers his darkest and most intriguing thriller yet - a terrifying story of espionage and betrayal - brilliantly paced with superb nonstop action.

Born in the shadows and kept from heads of state, there are some missions so deadly, so sensitive, that they simply don't exist.

When one such mission goes horribly wrong, a wave of dramatic terrorist attacks is set in motion. Their goal: the complete and total collapse of the United States.

With the CIA's intelligence abilities hobbled, former Navy SEAL Team 6 member turned covert counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath launches an audacious plan to infiltrate the terrorists' network and prevent one of the biggest threats the United States has ever faced.

Simultaneously, a foreign wet work team has been sent to California. Their target: one of Hollywood's most famous filmmakers.

While working on a secret documentary project, movie producer Larry Salomon has unknowingly exposed one of the world's wealthiest and most politically connected powerbrokers - a man with a radical anti-American agenda poised to plunge the nation into deadly, irreversible chaos.

As the plots rocket to their pulse-pounding conclusion and the identities of the perpetrators are laid stunningly bare, Harvath will be left with only one means to save America. Unable to trust anyone, he will be forced to go Full Black.

Intense and frighteningly realistic, Full Black is, hands down, Brad Thor's most riveting thriller to date.

Ignore 1 star reviews-unless you're also simple

The book is a great work of fiction. Great characters, plot and pace. Its plot revolves around conspiracy....and apparently some readers identified themselves with the conspirators and slammed the book. The book pushes buttons across the political spectrum; but some feel untouchable. Please ignore the light-minded individuals who must grade a political conspiracy work of fiction on how well it promotes or detracts from their personal positions. Its a work of fiction, for entertainment purposes, not propaganda. Just listen, enjoy and spare the rest of us your whining politics...whatever they may be.

A chilling look at a potential reality

As a conservative professor of political science and economics, I found this book quite interesting. Having read most of Thors books, I found this to be both entertaining and scary. The plot lends itself to a possible reality in todays world. Especially with the way the worlds economic system is being handled by spend happy socialists leaning toward Marxism. Just change some of the names and you could envision a conspiracy like this happening in the United States . It is a sobering book.

One of the best books I have listened to.

Any additional comments?

I found/stumbled on Brad Thor this last winter and have since listened to everyone of his audio books. I can not wait until the next book.

Another win for Brad Thor

Brad Thor has done it again with another edge-of-your-seat Scot Harvath thriller in "Full Black". The technical details are fascinating, the story is both plausible and terrifying, and the performance is superb. And as always, Thor's ruminations--in the persona of Harvath--about terrorism, Islam, and global politics are dead on point. I find myself nodding like a bobblehead during Harvath's internal monologues.

I cannot fathom why these riveting novels haven't made it to the big screen yet. Maybe there is just too much truth and patriotism in them for Hollywood to handle, I don't know. (Hopefully the blockbuster success of "American Sniper" will change that.) Hollywood has a gold mine in Thor, if they could stop rebooting Spiderman for the umpteenth time to pay attention.

Enjoyable

Where does Full Black rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 10 percent

What did you like best about this story?

I like the plot. I think the scenario is not implausable, not necessarily the terrorism connection but the agenda behind it.

Which character – as performed by Armand Schultz – was your favorite?

I like most of them. No favourites.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

not really

Any additional comments?

I think the story was good until the last couple of chapters. It just went from a detailed plot straight to wrap-up. Seems like 4 or 5 chapters are missing.

POLITICS ARE NOT BLACK & WHITE

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I like this series. Unfortunately, the politics on both sides show the far right and far left as black and white. This is what is going on in today's politics. The answer is in the middle and working together is the answer. Both sides have good arguments. The novel was more of a political statement instead of a story.

Best so far! Very believable!

What made the experience of listening to Full Black the most enjoyable?

First of all, Armand Schultz needs a raise. He has made Scot Harvath come to life in this series. Second, while not as complicated in plot development, it was no less thrilling. The progression of the story made it impoosible to stop listening! Finally, the believability of this story was intriguing. I was glued to in part because I think the thought processes have a scary reality. Outstanding. Already downloaded the next one..

What was one of the most memorable moments of Full Black?

The ending. I loved the interrogation of Ashford and Scot disposing of Standing.

What about Armand Schultz’s performance did you like?

His characterizations are spot on. Love his energy and pace.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No. But I do gesture occasionally while listening. And, I do give an occasional..."Yeah"!

Any additional comments?

Great book. Please keep writing these Brad!

Safeguarding America's Freedom

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend the audio book to a friend because within in its pages are action, excitement, fear and the power and conviction of the citizens of the United States, to keep our nation a democracy.

What did you like best about this story?

What I liked about this story was the quick action to try and find who had been committing terrorist acts. There had been other such incidents in the recent past and the terrorists hide out had been located. The plan to capture or take down had been organized and the men found their opportunity and acted quickly.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was when Scott Harvath returns home and remembers how it was that he was presented with the deed to live there for the stupendous amount of $1.00 a year. His new home had once been a naval base and was no longer being used but sitting dormant. The only requirement, other than the $1.00 expense, was that he would keep the grounds in good condition and adhere to the lease for 100 years. He had been living with a woman whom he loved but she was up front and with conviction, told Scott that she did not now or ever want children. Scott wanted children and while standing by the bay at the back of his home, he thought about Riley, a doctor whom he had met on this recent mission. Scott thought that maybe he just might have to become more acquainted with Riley.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No, there was not a moment in the book that particularly moved me.

Any additional comments?

The Scott Harvath series have provided me with countless hours of great listens. He was once a member of the SEALS Team Six but is now working for the, "old man." His missions still revolve around terrorism, who live in cells around the US. Scott continues to get involved in missions that are dangerous, suspenseful and full of action. He continues to hate the men who want to destroy the US and bring it to its knees. The man in this story is an American, which makes Scott even angrier. The Islam fundamentalists who believe that the US is evil and corrupt, need to take time and look at themselves. However, Scott knows that these hateful followers of the fanatical Islamists, will never occur. He will always have a job as the new way of fighting war continues to emerge. America is no longer invincible, as we once believed.
