Publisher's summary

When you're the best at what you do, it's not always easy to walk away. Nathan McBride was retired. The trained Marine sniper and covert CIA operative had put the violence of his former life behind him. But not anymore. A deep-cover FBI agent has disappeared along with one ton of powerful Semtex explosive, enough to unleash a disaster of international proportions.

The U.S. government has no choice but to coax Nathan out of retirement. He's the only man with the skills necessary to get the job done. But almost as soon as Nathan reluctantly accepts the assignment, he finds himself caught in the middle. On the one side is a ruthless adversary with a blood-chilling plan - and on the other are agents who will stop at nothing to see their own brand of justice done.

Also listen to the sequel, Forced to Kill.

Awesome book!!

Andrew Peterson will become one of the all time favorites. If you love the action thriller genre, get it now! The characters and action are so craftily created you will be left wishing the book was twice as long!

Tons of action

What did you love best about First to Kill?

The main character in this book is such a broken man, but has some real good inside, and is a complete badass. The story is realistic for fiction and captivating. I have not been able to put down any of the kill series including this one.

Oh Yeah! Nathan joins the club

I am a huge fan of Jack Reacher and Mitch Rapp. Nathan McBride is now in that club. Really enjoyed it.

Exciting action novel

If you could sum up First to Kill in three words, what would they be?

exciting, action, charged

What did you like best about this story?

I like Nathan's no nonsense way of catching and dealing with bad guys. No bull.

Yes. I enjoy Dick's performances.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wouldn't say extreme, but i did enjoy this book very much, enough to purchase the kindle version of the second book.

Could be Reachers Twin

Would you consider the audio edition of First to Kill to be better than the print version?

I picked this series due to the narrator, Dick Hill. I now enjoy the author as much as the narrator.

What other book might you compare First to Kill to and why?

Anything by Childs.

Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I will select books in the future just for the narrator.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

OK story-Dick Hill sucks as usual

The plot is somewhat contrived and unrealistic but it did keep my attention most of the time....even with the very irritating Dick Hill;s narration.

Hill, sadly, is chased to narrate many action novels-one of the genres I love. Lee Chind? Dick Hill-some Stephen King-Dick Hill..he has 26!!! pages of books he's narrated.

And the man makes every woman sound the same...every single one has the same intonations, dialect, and slightly snarky attitude...OH, authors and producers..there are so many other wonderful narrators out there.
Give Hill a rest--please.

This is the first of a series of (so far) 5 novels. I'm not sure I can take Dick Hill for 5 note mediocre novels, especially when I Blast Him..Dick-the Dork-Hill

If you like Jack Reacher and Mitch Rapp...

I’ll be brief: Peterson’s style is tight and terse and exactly what I was looking for. This is book 1. So pleased there are a bunch more to enjoy.
