Publisher's summary

Personal vendettas, hidden treasure, and a monkey named Carl will send bounty hunter Stephanie Plum on her most explosive adventure yet.

The Crime: Armed robbery to the tune of nine million dollars

Dom Rizzi robbed a bank, stashed the money, and did the time. His family couldn't be more proud. He always was the smart one.

The Cousin: Joe Morelli

Joe Morelli, Dom Rizzi, and Dom's sister, Loretta, are cousins. Morelli is a cop, Rizzi robs banks, and Loretta is a single mother waiting tables at the firehouse. The all-American family.

The Complications: Murder, kidnapping, destruction of personal property, and acid reflux

Less than a week after Dom's release from prison, Joe Morelli has shadowy figures breaking into his house and dying in his basement. He's getting threatening messages, Loretta is kidnapped, and Dom is missing.

The Catastrophe: Moonman

Morelli hires Walter "Mooner" Dunphy, stoner and "inventor" turned crime fighter, to protect his house. Morelli can't afford a lot on a cop's salary, and Mooner will work for potatoes.

The Cupcake: Stephanie Plum

Stephanie and Morelli have a long-standing relationship that involves sex, affection, and driving each other nuts. She's a bond enforcement agent with more luck than talent, and she's involved in this bank-robbery-gone-bad disaster from day one.

The Crisis: A favor for Ranger

Security expert Carlos Manoso, street name Ranger, has a job for Stephanie that will involve night work. Morelli has his own ideas regarding Stephanie's evening activities.

The Conclusion: Only the fearless should listen to Fourteen.

Thrills, chills, and incontinence may result.

Jersey girl: listen to more in the Stephanie Plum series.

Critic reviews

"Stephanie Plum is a bounty hunter with a great sense of humor that balances out her attitude and worse luck...like Dorothy Parker with a lousy job and a Jersey accent." ( Time)
"Evanovich's series is as addictive as Fritos...Evanovich serves up consistently craveable goodies." ( People)

Keeps you coming back for more!

A great addition to the series. She always has me wanting to find out what happens next. I think Lorelei King is the perfect narrator for these books!

newest number

I enjoyed this book as I have with the other 13 books with Stephanie in them. It is getting alittle redundant but still a good read - well, listen. AND, the thought of Ranger in a tux...umm, delicious!

Fun

It was fun like her other books. I feel like she could mix things up a little more, but overall a good listen.

What people will do for money...

Would you consider the audio edition of Fearless Fourteen to be better than the print version?

Did all the prints years back and love them, but the reading does give a different dimension to the stories. Enjoyable listens.

Which scene was your favorite?

Grandma digging for the money in Morelli's backyard.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

So Where's the Money!!!!!!!

Any additional comments?

I think you'll enjoy this book. Funny, romantic, far fetched and just plain fun.

Lauged out loud in many spots

OK, so this is not a Pulitzer Prize award winner, but if they had one for comedy, Janet Evanovich would be the definite winner. When I describe this series to people who haven't read it I tell them: "Comedy with a little drama, mystery and mayhem mixed in." Knowing the characters from the previous books is an absolute prerequisite to thoroughly enjoying this book. In fact, now that I have finished 14, I am going to go back and start at One for the Money again and enjoy the series from 1 to 13 because I found 14 to be so uplifting and funny. I remember the other books had similar moments and want to re-live them! I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Nice break from Mitch Rapp

I usually like mysteries and thrillers, but occasionally I like some comic relief, so I turn to Janet's books for that. I've heard 6 or so of them and I'll keep coming back. Fourteen is another winner.

I Love the Hero In this Book

I am not going to give away who saves the day in this one. you need to listen for yourself.
I adore this narrator and my companion cat also loves her voice. A plus because my cat will turn off Lady Gaga and other things he do3snt find soothing or entertaining.
This narrator switches voices and character with ease. In fact you may think there are several people doing the voices even though there is not.
Beware of the giant pizza Brenda the famous singer is told repeatedly by her Stalker. Strange huh?
One of the most entertaining books in this series.

One of her best!

If you thought Stephanie Plum was getting a bit stale, this one will pull you back in. I'm not going to give anything away. If you laughed out loud at any of the earlier books, read this one.

Laughed out loud...

I have read all of the Plum books and I must say Fearless Fourteen is one of my favorites. There was Stephanie, Morelli, Ranger and all the regulars plus some old friends and new.

Mooner was back which is where I got most of my chuckles. He is such a rich character and the way he interacts with Stephanie is extremely humorous. Oh there was a monkey too which had me laughing out loud.

The two hunks in Stephanie's life are back finer than ever. If I was Stephanie I don't think I could choose so I guess she shouldn't for a while yet.

The central story is simply great and all of the smaller ones weave in well so fun and sleuthing builds nicely. In the end we are left waiting for ------- Fifteen. I can't wait!

Lorelei King does a wonderful narration. I must say I had a bit of trouble transitioning from C.J. Critt but now I am very comfortable with Miss King.
