Publisher's summary

Before Stephanie can even step foot off Flight 127, Hawaii to Newark, she’s knee deep in trouble. Her dream vacation turned into a nightmare, and she’s flying back to New Jersey solo. Worse still, her seatmate never returned to the plane after the L.A. layover. Now he’s dead, in a garbage can, waiting for curbside pickup. His killer could be anyone. And a ragtag collection of thugs and psychos, not to mention the FBI, are all looking for a photograph the dead man was supposed to be carrying.

Only one other person has seen the missing photo: Stephanie Plum. Now she’s the target, and she doesn’t intend to end up in a garbage can. With the help of an FBI sketch artist, Stephanie re-creates the person in the photo. Unfortunately, the first sketch turns out to look like Tom Cruise, and the second sketch like Ashton Kutcher. Until Stephanie can improve her descriptive skills, she’ll need to watch her back.

Over at the bail bonds agency, things are going from bad to worse. The bonds bus serving as Vinnie’s temporary HQ goes up in smoke. Stephanie’s wheelman, Lula, falls in love with their largest skip yet. Lifetime arch nemesis Joyce Barnhardt moves into Stephanie’s apartment. And everyone wants to know what happened in Hawaii.

Morelli, Trenton’s hottest cop, isn’t talking about Hawaii. Ranger, the man of mystery, isn’t talking about Hawaii. And all Stephanie is willing to say about her Hawaiian vacation is... it’s complicated.

great book!

What did you love best about Explosive Eighteen?

everything! I love all of the books in the Stephanie Plum series.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I normally enjoy the readers but for some reason this particular reader kind of bothered me by the voices that she did. It may just be me but everyone in the story lives and is normally from New Jersey but yet they had different accents, just bothered me a bit that's all

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes but didn't have the time to listen all in one sitting

Always entertaining and funny!

What made the experience of listening to Explosive Eighteen the most enjoyable?

All of the smiles contained within the characters and the audio narrator are most enjoyable for me.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Stephanie is the glue and my favorite. Without her the book wouldn't come together. She reminds me of me, clumsey but loving and really tries hard.

Any additional comments?

This series is just a crazy ride. Each book endears these characters to the reader and by now they are like family to me, too.

Same Steph Stuff

Would you listen to Explosive Eighteen again? Why?

No because I don't listen to any story twice if I can help it. It was better than some of the series but not the best. I finished it for light listening while doing home projects. It is easy listening because you miss a bit and not fall behind. I liked the attempt at a mystery...who is after her.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Explosive Eighteen?

Whenever Ranger is in the story it is memorable.

What does Lorelei King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She makes it! I love her as Stephanie Plum.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I listened to it a month ago so a bit late for me to do a good review.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Explosive Eighteen?

Lula and the rocket launcher.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

So much fun!

I like all of the numbered Janet Evanovich books. They are fun and very entertaining. Stephanie is like a grown up, contemporary Ann of Green Gables, always getting in trouble, but never on purpose. I have an extra set of the series in paperbacks, that I use to introduce reading to non-readers; works every time. I have enjoyed listening to the Stephanie Plum series while I travel. I get to laugh a lot and I really look forward to my daily traveling just so I can hear the stories. Sometimes, I don't even want to get out of the car. What I like best is that there is just not one story line in a book, there are usually quite a few, but they all come together in the end. Janet's characters are a hoot!

dig deep and give us more!

What made the experience of listening to Explosive Eighteen the most enjoyable?

I always love the characters..I just want them to progress faster. Make the story a touch darker. Don't want the stories to be the 'same ol same ol" (though comforting,,,need more)

What was one of the most memorable moments of Explosive Eighteen?

hmmmmm

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

King is one of my fav narrators...

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Need More, which is probably why the book was so short.

Any additional comments?

This wasn't EXPLOSIVE...

I honestly enjoy all of this series

I’m just starting this book. Right off the bat I’ve bought into it. Outstanding performance, as always.
Good solid story line keeping the characters alive and interacting in another caper. Always entertaining.
I look forward to each next book I’m this series as well as the Kate O’Hare series.
Enjoy
