Business has been frustratingly slow for Abby. She reluctantly agrees to a job with the FBI, putting her at the center of an internal political struggle between two agents. Abby's skills and patience are tested, but when she helps them locate three college students who've mysteriously disappeared, they know she's the real deal. Her intuition says these weren't random abductions. With her psychic eye wide open she sets out to find a kidnapper.

Another really enjoyable book from Victoria Laurie, read by Elizabeth Michaels. I'm getting used to EM's narrating, & really like her style and voice; she complements the story well. The book is another great instalment in the series about Abbey Cooper, Psychic Investigator extraordinaire. I plan to download the whole series!
good as always...... have enjoyed all of this series.... some more than others..... but always a good listen......
This was a breezy easy read (listen) and the characters and story were entertaining.
It's easy to say Abbie since she is the "star" but I rather liked the PI character, Candace.
I really enjoyed the climactic scene in the.....well, the climactic scene.
Politics from the other side.
I'm not really into psychics and hoggie boogy stuff but I enjoyed this mystery and the characters enough to try another book from the series.
I just love this series. It has everything I love: mystery, ghosties, sassy slueths and romance! I sure would love to join Abbie and Candace's PI team. They're a hoot! Harrison really spiced things up. For some reason I kept picturing him as Eric from True Blood. Meow! Now that Abbie is Austin bound, I HAVE to dive into the next book!
As for the narrator, she did a pretty good job. I like that she doesn't talk at rapid fire like some of the others. This book is easy to listen to when your driving, working out, or doing some other tedious multi-tasking chore. Good stuff!
Everyone has to have that "Thing They Love!" This is how I find and keep up with mine!
I love this series the fact that Abby can be human but still have super human abilities that we all possess it is a refreshing break from the norm! I love the book is based out of the surround Detroit Subs! I'll be sad to see the move in the next book!
Worth the time and credit!
Previously on Death Perception...
Special Director Super Head Guy of the FBI, Gaston, invited Abby Cooper, Psychic Extraordinaire, to work for the FBI. Gaston is a huge Abby fan, and just loves her to death! I love this guy already...Special Agent boss dude of Dutch's, Agent Robalard goes down for his past crimes right before getting ready to kill Abby, Candace, Cat, Nora and Misty. And Dutch has some "splaining to do" in regards to his security company and moolah he is apparently rolling in!
Present day...Robalard's replacement Special Agent Bryce Harrison is here, large and in-charge already, and Gaston calls on Abby to help locate three missing college students. Dutch has recovered from his ruptured appendix and is back to work as well. Upon agreeing to take the job with the FBI, Abby includes Candace in the deal since they are business partners, and she has more experience in dealing with law enforcement. The girls are flown off to Washington D.C. to get briefed on the case with the new man in charge: Harrison. Harrison does not make a good impression! Neither does Abby according to Candace. After much reluctance, Abby finally agrees to a total make over, and I love it!!
Once Abby and Candace do finally meet Harrison, boy is he a jerkwad! I mean really! So after being told to sit there and shut up during interviews with the missing kids' parents, the girls go in with heavy hearts. When the mother opens the door the situation could not have been more of a surprise! Well it could have but we won't go there...anyhoo...the mother knows Candace and Abby already!! Candace was an acquaintance and Abby did a reading for her a few years prior! Eat that Harrison, haha!!! They completely ignore Harrison, and talk amongst themselves revealing information they weren't suppose to and get themselves kicked off the case. That happen faster than I thought!
The newcomer Bryce Harrison, of course he is a non-believer of psychics! We had to have a "sour puss" on the team to cause friction, right? I love the way Candace plays him at his own game though! Abby and Candace push their luck by proceeding on with the investigation on their own, but only to end up besting the FBI team and landing a spot back on it. The constant give, give, give, with no take, gets on my nerves, but finally Harrison begins to see the light, (HALLELUIAH, HALLELUIAH!). Once they start acting civil with each other they can work together more effectively. I thoroughly enjoyed this latest adventure with Abby and Candace! I especially love the new changes and can't wait to find out what happens in the next chapter of Abby's life!
Elizabeth Michaels continues to do an excellent job giving Abby Cooper a voice! Again, if this is your first time listening to her, she does not act out and "perform" the story, she narrates, simple as that. Her voice is very fitting for Abby in my opinion, and she does deliver the emotions in the appropriate situations of the book. I give Elizabeth 4 Stars as well, thank you!
Great story like always from Victoria Laurie! And the narrator does a great job! Really has the characters down. Worth it!
