Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista is a novel set in the not-too-distant future in the American Southwest, during a period of low-intensity civil war. The action takes place between Texas and California, but the story is mainly centered around New Mexico. Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista is a sequel to Enemies Foreign and Domestic, but it may be enjoyed on its own.

This book was written by Matthew Bracken, a man who apparently can see into the future. “Domestic Enemies” is what will happen to the United States if the idiots who run our federal government continue to allow millions and millions of illegal aliens into our country. With approx 350 millions people living in the US right now (2023), at least 50 million of them are illegal aliens and this book explains what a disaster the US will become as they continue coming.
These are NOT asylum seekers who are fleeing terrorism! The illegal aliens who have entered the US unhindered since moron Biden took office are coming to the US to find jobs, get “free healthcare”, have anchor babies and take advantage of US taxpayers. They are being aided from their own countries to the US by the evil UN, Catholic Charities, other “religious” groups & NGO’s who hate America and Americans. Stop it while you can!

While the narration does leave much to be desired, just stick it out and focus on the tale this trilogy weaves. It's a helluva great ride and scary once you connect the fact of when these were written... and how predictive of what is actually occurring in this country and the world in 2022. As for the narrator, cut him some slack. He has a excellent voice for narration, he seems to just lack in experience and with time and coaching I'd bet he becomes really good.

Ignore negative narrator comments. Not 2B missed!

I fully enjoyed the story and the characters. This is a author who'll be having more audio books produced soon I would think. The narrator was perfect somehow I see all this with a strong southern accent for characters at least most. I look forward to more. Hopefully soon.
There's a 3rd book in this series I have it on kindle but would prefer audio.

I am getting the series there's 3 books.

The beginning was rough, just a tough story, but well worth the read. Matt Bracken has a way of developing these stories that make you wander if anyone will survive keeping the suspense level pegged at 11.

A little rough in the beginning, but a good read.

This is not far fetched. Very plausible plot and premise. Non stop action. Very good.

Provocative

I’ve listened to this entire series at least a half a dozen times over the years and it never disappoints. Thanks Matt.

Love this book & the whole series.

What did you love best about Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista?

It reminded me of another book I read awhile back called
"The Next 100 Years: A Forecast for the 21st Century " It's quite frightening to think, but I believe this is where the country is headed. I think Mr. Bracken is doing a great service by putting these scenarios in fictional settings, it will open a few peoples eyes to what is going on around them. That is what I like best about the story

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, it is plausible and believable..

Which character – as performed by Mike Kemp – was your favorite?

Bob Boulard

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Little Brians assistance in the escape.

Any additional comments?

Read for #3....I like Mikes voice, but his narration seems somewhat amateur ..still I like it..

The story was great but the reader was just that, he read. Monotone, at times it sounded like he was on a cell phone.

Good story, worst performance EVER

I thoroughly enjoyed this thoughtful portrayal of life in the near future as current trends reach their inevitable point of no return.

A fascinating story I wholeheartedly recommend
