New York Times best-selling author Joanne Fluke will leave listeners hungry for more with this, her best recipe for murder yet. Devil’s Food Cake Murder finds the residents of Lake Eden, Minnesota, buzzing with activity. Perhaps busiest of all is Hannah Swensen, proprietor of The Cookie Jar, who is experimenting with a devil’s food cake recipe. But no matter how hectic times may be, Hannah can always find time to help a friend—particularly a dead one.

I love books and animals.I enjoy all sorts of genres, anything from history to supernatural.
I just finished this book and wow. What an ending! I can't until the next one!
The book has the same familiar light and fluffy feeling of the other books.
The narrator is the same and does her always fantastic job.
Overall, if you are a fan of the Hannah Swensen books this is a must! The ending might change everything in the future for Hannah.
An all around enjoyable book, and if you make any of the recipes, do yourself a favor and make the Chocolate Euphoria Cookie Bars. They're sinfully good :-D
I could not take another Grandma Knunsen phrase again. Every other word seemed like it was Grandma Knunsen. Enough already, we know of whom the writer was speaking of, we don't need to be reminded of it every second in the story. I believe it took away from the plot.
I didnt like the fact that i felt like the whole book kept getting interrupted by recipes. I know its called Devil's Food Cake Murder but i got irritated by the recipe interruptions.
Ive listened to this book by Joanne Fluke and also Cinnamon Roll Murder and they run along the same lines, I just dont like the constant recipe interruptions its hard to focus. So im sorry to say my next listen will not be a Joanne Fluke book.
Devil's Food Cake Murder, like other Hannah Swensen adventures, are light and easy reading. There's a continuing cast of characters so, if you would like to listen to these books, you should start with her first, the Chocolate Chip Cookie murder. Recipes are included!
No- it's a great light read and time waster
Like a soap opera I want to find out who Hannah will end up with - personally - I'm on team Norman
She expresses well
Makes me want to bake
The whole series has been about mystery and RECIPES, however if one does not" Bake" then the recipes are of little value. We kept listening to the series, hoping things would improve and change. Spice it up a bit!!
The final book was the "Icing on the Cake", the story line was really getting old, regarding Hannah's indecision about the "man" she would prefer. We thought it was not very good at all, in fact horrible. We really could not wait for it to end. Please do something about the recipes. I do have some suggestions.....
Suzanne Toren did a great job at the Narration. She was very consistant with her characters!
This is the first book of this series that I have downloaded on to my I Pod. I have always read her previous books, and have enjoyed them very much. However I will not buy any more audio books by this writer if Suzanne Toren narrates it. I found her heavy breathing very annoying. Her breathing distracted me from my story line. This is the first time that I have had such a problem while listening to audio books.
this reader reads this book like shes reading to preschoolers. She also sounds too old to be the main character...Im disappointed and dont think i will be finishing this.... I like the books- theyre light and fluffy with some good recipes but the audio version stinks!! dont waste your credits!
