Publisher's summary

When a NASA satellite discovers an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory, a victory with profound implications for NASA policy and the impending presidential election. To verify the authenticity of the find, the White House calls upon the skills of intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic scholar Michael Tolland, Rachel travels to the Arctic and uncovers the unthinkable: evidence of scientific trickery, a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy. But before she can warn the President, Rachel and Michael are ambushed by a deadly team of assassins. Fleeing for their lives across a desolate and lethal landscape, their only hope for survival is to discover who is behind this masterful plot. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all.

Critic reviews

"Brown moves into new territory with his latest. It's an excellent thriller: a big yet believable story unfolding at breakneck pace, with convincing settings and just the right blend of likable and hateful characters. He's also done his research, folding in sophisticated scientific and military details that make his plot far more fulfilling than the norm." (Publishers Weekly)
"A dazzling high-tech adventure...Brown proves once again that he is among the most intelligent and dynamic of authors in the thriller genre." (Library Journal)
"This is pretty exciting stuff...and Brown certainly does have a knack for spinning a suspenseful yarn." (Booklist)

NASA's big Mistake biologist figures it out

Well written book a lot of twists and turns The end is a shocker. A lot of close the temps for the stars but they make it out.

An truly exciting adventure

When I realised how long this book was I thought that it would never hold my interest, but it did. I found myself listening for much longer than I anticipated, just to find out what would happen next. A gripping thriller.

Story is great but this guy's voice is annoying.

Great book but this guy keeps drinking or something on mic and it sounds disgusting. he should mute the mic first.

Classic Dan Brown

This is a fun action adventure with the right amount of politics and science mixed in. Is it predictable? Sure, but that’s why we read books like this one. Deception Point is reliable, classic Dan Brown. Well done.

loved story, reader drove me nuts

Dan Brown pulls you along in a fast pace nail bitting twisting story. and totally believable. great writing. PROBLEM.. the reader and his mouth sounds drove me nuts. very distracted from story. I had listened on drive to and from work several days I'd skip so I didn't have to hear the squish and smacking sounds from the reader. but because I wanted to hear what happened I finally suffered thru. again awesome book

Early Dan Brown - still a lot of fun

So this is one of Dan Brown's earlier works. You can definitely tell he has not yet hit his stride on the religion/mystery thing yet, but that also made this book refreshing (if you're a Dan Brown fan). It still had it's fair share of twists and turns, and it was well researched. Overall, a lot of fun (particularly in the current political climate). #RippedFromTheHeadlines #Clever #Washington #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

was good. Not awesome

took a long time to get started and then felt like long swaths that were slow and seemed to drag. felt like it explained way to much. Still, a good book, and one that I'm not upset about in the least. worthy read
