Publisher's Summary

George Furnace, flight instructor at Baston Aero Club, dies instantly when his plane crashes into the English countryside. People who knew him are baffled - Furnace was a first-rate pilot, and the plane was in perfect condition - and the inquest records a verdict of death by misadventure.

An Australian visitor to the aero club, Edwin Marriott, Bishop of Cootamundra, suspects that the true story is more complicated. Could this be a dramatic suicide - or even murder? Together with Inspector Bray of Scotland Yard, the intrepid bishop must uncover a cunning criminal scheme.

    Story
    "So well written and performed"

I will try and get my hands on the rest of the author's mysteries. So clever and entertaining. Perfect and well crafted. I sincerely hope more of them can be obtained through Audible. This felt more like a radio play as I believe there were multiple performers. Delightfully done. Can't recommend it enough.

    Story
    "Very factual"

I enjoyed this story, as I like the old fashioned style of "who dunnit". However, my preference is more for the Agatha Christie style, where you get to know the characters, rather than this sort where you're following all the clues. Having said that, this is good fun to listen to with some twists and turns and even a little romance. Well worth a listen.
