Publisher's summary

Sports agent Myron Bolitar is poised on the edge of the big time. So is Christian Steele, a rookie quarterback and Myron's prized client. But when Christian gets a phone call from a former girlfriend, a woman who everyone, including the police, believes is dead, the deal starts to go sour. Trying to unravel the truth about a family's tragedy, a woman's secret, and a man's lies, Myron is up against the dark side of his business - where image and talent make you rich, but the truth can get you killed.

In novels that crackle with wit and suspense, Edgar Award winner Harlan Coben has created one of the most fascinating and complex heroes in suspense fiction - Myron Bolitar - a hotheaded, tenderhearted sports agent who grows more and more engaging and unpredictable with each pause-resisting appearance.

Great book!

I loved this book. I have listened to it three times. Jonathan Marosz does an outstanding job bringing the characters to life. I love the wit and sarcasm between Win and Myron. You will not be able to anticipate the ending until you hear it.

Narration Gave Omph.

A solid story with enough mystery to keep me involved. The narrator added to my enjoyment, providing color to the words. Good fun.

Slow start

Was very slow moving but got better towards end. If you stick with it you may like it.

Great Story; Great Narration!

I'm a tough grader and if i could give six stars in all categories, I would. I have since read almost every other Myron Bolitar novel and have enjoyed them all. The stories are a perfect blend of action, mystery and humor. The characters are unique and I can't relate them to anything else when I recommend this book to friends.

Jonathan Marosz is a perfect narrator for the story; he captures the sarcastic wit perfectly and does a wide range of accents dead on (from Hispanic to NY Jewish). The performance makes the characters even more likable.

Everyone I have recommended this to has continued on in the series and has not been disappointed.

Happy listening!

Wonderfully presented and gripping story..Wow

Would you consider the audio edition of Deal Breaker to be better than the print version?

I love the audio version..I can remember as a child, listening to the great radio programs and using my imagination..same difference here. I haven't seen the print version.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Deal Breaker?

The ending..always kept me guessing as to who done it..

What does Jonathan Marosz bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He makes the characters come alive with the different voice inflections. I have always had a hard time keeping the characters in mind if I were to read the book..now I can hear who is speaking..wonderfully presented

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wouldnt call it extreme, but I did chuckle at some of the lighter moments but was held in suspense most of the time.

Any additional comments?

Great job...love this stuff..makes all the long trips seem easier..

Great mystery, great main character

The main character is a lot of fun. The plot is well thought out. If you are a fan of mysteries with interesting characters this book is a good choice.

Compelling story

Compelling story but I don't like all of the F-words. I would enjoy the story much more without them.

Very good mystery with some humor. Just wish the author could gave written it without all the f and gd words.

Very entertaining who-done-it. The sarcastic humor reminded me of the old gum shoe (private detective) movies. It kept me trying to figure out who was behind everything. I was surprised when I found out. I do wish the author had not felt the need to use the f and gd words so much. I guess he thought it made the book more realistic. Over all a good book.

A Modern American Noir Type Mystery Story

This is the first "Myron Bolitar" novel and is a marked improvement over the author's first two novels. This audiobook is very well read by Jonathan Marcosz. His performance is very professional and Five Stars. As for the story it is very clever and had me wondering until the end. It reminded me of a modern version of Raymond Chandler and / or Dashiell Hammett. Neither of the author's first two novels were like this and as far as I am concerned are forgettable other than for the purpose of comparing and contrasting. Thank You...
